Biography
-
The Blues Preachers take you to another place and time, somewhere Deep South round about 1920 to 1940. The Blues Preachers perform a fusion of good old blues, rags, gospel and hillbilly folk with the powerful simplicity of driving finger-style and slide-guitar combined with the sounds of tasteful harmonica and old-school vocal harmonies reminiscent of Blind Willie Johnson.
They have so far released a highly acclaimed 2008 album Next Stop Beulah Land which was followed by their 2009 release Dry Long So. However it is their latest release Dead Catz Can Bounce thats really started things rolling. It contains many original songs about the big issues of today: the global financial crisis, greed, relationships, global warming, materialism, life and death and the search for truth and meaning in the great age of misinformation. The Blues Preachers are building a reputation as one of the best acoustic blues and roots acts in Australia.
