Yep, my story Donatello and the Swede Syndrome won second place for Best Parody in the TMNT FanFiction Competition 2006! Whopee!

Well, I've always liked writing. When I was little, I kept a diary (in fact, I still do, even though I don't write in it that often). As the years went by, there came poems, short "novels" (that would make me rich and famous one day), and other products of my imagination.
And so, when I was 15, I stumbled upon the phenomenon known as fan fiction. I was absolutely fascinated. To use your favourite fiction characters and create your own adventures with them - why had I never thought about that before? Of course, my imagination had been circling around the topic, but I had never written anything of it down. I made a decision on the spot - I would be a fan fiction author.
At the time, my obsession was Mulan - you know, that animated movie about the Chinese girl taking her father's place in the army. I wrote a parody of movie, How the Movie Mulan was Made. (Humour and parody is what I'm good at. I have tried writing drama, tragedy, horror etc, but something funny always sneaks in. I cannot help it.) Now, when I look back at the story, I can clearly see the difference between that and my later stories. This parody hasn't much of a plot, actually - but since it is a parody, it doesn't matter that much. If it had been drama, the situation would have been different.
I finished the story one and a half year after I started it. It has 18 chapters and 25 000 words. It is pretty appreciated by the readers, actually - I'm proud of it. Feel free to drop by and give it a chance.

I am the sort of person that gets hooked onto something and then cannot seem to let go of it for a long time. My next obsession was X-Men: Evolution. Mutated humans with superpowers - wow! Surprise, surprise - my imagination kicked in again.
I wrote two X-Men fics - Dimension 17 and Truth or Dare. ToD is a short "one shot" (a story with only one chapter) on the topic of romance. (Afterwards, I have discovered that I can't write romance, but at the time I wasn't aware of that. And people seemed to like it anyway...) More exactly, a relationship between Kurt (the blue guy on the bottom of the picture) and Kitty (the dark-haired girl with a black and purple costume).
D17 is an action/adventure story where my fave character Kurt was sucked into another dimension. 12 chapters and 16 000 words: not very much now, but at the time it was a long fic. I like it, although I have started re-writing the first chapters - my English grammar wasn't as good then as it is now.
I still like these mutants, even though I ain't thinking about them 24/7 anymore. They're cool. I've got a couple of X-Men sites at the links page, click there!
(Please note that all my X-Men stories are based on the first season. That's the best one. When the "New mutants" showed up in season 2, it wasn't a good thing. And the third season, when they were found out by the humans... ugh. Besides, I hate Scarletwitch with a passion... Okay, I'll stop ranting now.)

My current obsession, which has had me trapped for about a year - The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Who doesn't remember those cute little things from the 80's, running around in the sewers of New York City, stuffing themselves with pizza? Well, to be honest, I hadn't thought about them for several years, until I happened to stumble over an episode of the New Toon from 2003. To my surprise, the sweet little creatures from the 80's had turned into muscular beings whose pupils disappeared as soon as they put on their masks. This toon was "darker" than the old one, more based on the original comics. These reptiles didn't spend half of their screen time eating pizza and saying "Cowabunga", they were involved in "real" battles and got injured both physically and mentally, as well as kicked some serious butt.
I was hooked. And I still am.

So far, there are several TMNT-stories going on. Getting the License and Goldilocks and the Three Turtles are two one shots. Both under the category of humour - any raised eyebrows?
Dimension Wars is a story I'm co-writing together with a girl that calls herself Empress Caroline of Tamaran. Remember the X-Men story I told you about above? Well, in this fic, the turtles stumble into the same dimension as Kurt. Scary, eh? ^_~
An author called Mikey's Kunoichi suggested that we should write something together. The result - Homo Terrapins. If the title doesn't give you a clue what it's about, I won't say it. Click the link and find out.
What I am most focused on for the moment is a comedy called Donatello and the Swede Syndrome. I really hope that I won't screw it up...
So, that is what I'm working on for the moment. Now you know a bit more about me and writing. Ciao!
Mulan and all related characters are the property of Walt Disney Studios, based on a several hundred years old Chinese poem. (I'm not kidding.)
X-Men: Evolution is the property of Marvel Studios, based on characters and comic books created by their respective creators, writers and artists.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the property of Mirage Studios, based on characters and comic books created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman.
To sum it all up - I own nothing.
