Maureen O'Hara stared in many movies with John Wayne, and they did well on the silver screen together.

Maureen O'Hara was born near the town of Dublin, Ireland, on August 17, 1920, and lived there with her five siblings Peggy, Charles, Florey, Margo and James. An lady who was interested in acting at an early age, Maureen began to perform on the stage as well as on the radio. By the time she was 14 years old, Maureen was winning awards in drama contests. Her hard work eventually paid off, in 1938, at the age of eighteen, Maureen got a small part as a secretary in the movie Kicking the Moon Around. Later that same year she appeared in My Irish Molly. Later, Maureen moved to Los Angeles and Hollywood to try her luck there. Her first film in the United States was The Hunchback of Notridame. In 1947, Maureen appeared in two big hits, Miracle on 34th St and Sinbad the Sailor. The earlier is now considered a Christmas classic. 1952 Maureen played with John Wayne in John Ford's hit The Quiet Man. This film acquired Ford an Oscar for Best Director. Maureen took a break from movies after 1957s The Wings of Eagles, returning to the screens in 1960s with Our Man In Havana. After Big Jake (also with John Wayne.) in 1971, Maureen wasn't seen on the silver screen for eighteen years. In 1991 she returned in the motion picture Only the Lonely. Her last film to date was Cab to Canada in the year 1998.
