Goat Wagon Sutlers
Goods that are Southern made.

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.

This dark grey vest is cut without a military collar. The wool front and brown twill back will blend in well for the soldier who likes to wear his white shirt and cravat. It is also suitable to wear with civilian trousers when you do not want military clothing. If you wish to have a military and civil vest and do not have both, this is two in one. Back has notched rise and adjustable belt. Buttonholes by hand. Size 40. Price $70.

Also available in size 46 with a straight cut back.

Wool soldier’s vest with muslin lining and brown twill cotton back. Adjustable back ties. Buttonhole done by hand. Size 38 Price $75

Dark grey vest.  Buttonholes by hand.  Size 50.  Price: $75

Black velvet embossed vest. Back is black cotton sateen with adjustable belt tie. Lining is black organic cotton dyed with natural dyes (such as bark).   Buttonholes done by hand.    Size 46.   $75.

For those you who would rather eat mice than wear something which might contain a synthetic thread…I am not certain what the material content is in the background behind the velvet embossing. This cloth was bought long ago and the ticket only says “velvet.”

More sizes will be available later. If you would like a size made between 38-48, please let me know.

A size 50 and 40 are now available. It is lined in cotton, though not the organic cotton of size 46.

This is my brother wearing a vest made from this kind of cloth. The hat…yeah, I know. He looks like a western six shooter instead of a gentleman. Look at the picture below this one and you will see he is selling his gentleman’s hat.

Gentleman's Hat $32   Size Medium   My brother has only worn this hat a couple of times.

The education of children for God is the most important business done on earth. It is the one business for which the earth exists... and every parent especially ought to feel, every hour of the day, that, next to making his own calling and election sure, this is the end for which he is kept alive by God-this is his task on earth. - Robert L. Dabney
