RSI Schedules New Vanilla Series Title
Critical Mass has announced a July 26th release date for the adult anime DVD "Vanilla Series: Hardcore Hospital." The 60 minute long DVD will contain both Shiroki Tenshi Tachi no Rondo OAVs and retail at $24.95.

Del Rey Acquires New Manga Title
Del Rey has acquired translation rights to Toshihiko Kobayashi's manga series Pastel. The first volume will be released in December.

Buddha Nominated for Harvey Award
Vertical Inc.'s English language translation of Osamu Tezuka's Buddha manga series has been nominated for a prestigious Harvey Award for Comic Book Excellence in the field of "Best American Edition of Foreign Material." Buddha is the only Japanese comic nominated for a 2005 Harvey Award. Winners will be announced June 11th.

Kazuma Kodaka Signing Announced
Central Park Media will host an autograph session with famed yaoi manga artist Ms. Kazuma Kodaka, best known to Americans as the creator of Kizuna, the best selling yaoi manga series in Japanese publishing history. Kodaka will be singing at the Rockefeller Center Kinokuniya Bookstore in New York City at 2 pm on Saturday, May 14.

Ask John - Is The Anime Craze in America Slowing?
Do you think that the anime craze is finally starting to die down? Manga distributors are dropping titles left and right, which would seem to indicate something. Is it simply a sign of companies starting to realize that certain titles sell better here than others, or is it just an unexplained event?
