CANE MASTERS, CANE DEFENCE

We are a part of Go Maru Defence, which is a small company based in the North East of England dealing with Martial Arts, Mainly Shotokan Karate and Self Defence and with the Cane being the only legal self defence "Tool" you can carry all most every where we have started to teach the Cane Masters cane defence system as well as their health and fittness program.   We have one club teaching only the Cane ( see club page )

 

A bit about our head instructor,  Mick Farrow Dip CP:   He is a Nidan in Shotokan Karate as well as being the founder of his own system in street defence, Mick also teaches self defence to the public and corporate sector, He has been teaching Shotokan Karate for over 7 years now and has 5 clubs with over a 100 students,  He has tryed many styles of martial arts over the year but has really took to Shotokan and the Cane which he say are his main styles,  Mick has train with a number of instructors over the year's,   Dave Turton 8th Dan Self Defence Federation, Dave Jenkinson 4th Dan Northern Karate Association, Ronnie Bronson 4th Dan Northern Karate Association, Steve Youngman 3rd degree   , plus many more in either club, course or seminar's.  STOP PRESS  Sensei Mick Past his Black Belt in the Cane on 11th August 2007 ( now the real hard work starts )

After Studying a number of styles, Shotokan, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Ju-Jitsu with Kevin Pell, Unarmed combat in the French Army,Robin then read about the Underwood System and contacted Clive Elliott, Robin is now a level one instructor in Defendo Underwood System of unarmed combat, then came the CaneMasters and Mark Shuey, and after Robin had a look at this system he found all of his trainng and learning would fit in with the Canemasters style.  He now teaches regular seminare with Grand Master Mark Shuey from the U.S.A.  He is teaching the Canemasters on a weekly basis.
