14th March 06 - ABERYSTWYTH

Celebrating another win (13-0) continuing our recent run of success after also beating Exeter!  The team went onto the pitch focussed and determined and managed to score our first goal within the first few minutes.  The game continued strongly, particulalry showing the skills of freshers Sarah who performed brilliantly in goal, and Hannah, who scored her first ever goal in the first half and went on to score again in the second.  Well done to all!

Brillant game.......everyone played fantastic and amazingly we had more players than the opposition!! Everyone worked really well. Defence was spot on, well done for sorting out everything. Attacking players were working really well together and getting free a lot. The link up the field was really good. Very impressive - have been told it was great to watch. Thanks to Princess and Beanz for umpiring. Some good calls guys. Shorty look forward to watching the video. Thanks for doing that.

Pip - don't really want to write about myself!!

Scottish - For the most amazing goal! WELL DONE!!

Leck - oh dear! You played so well - we know you can run now! So you better keep it up.

Big thanks to Shorty who played in goal for us, though you did get dick of the day you did play brillant for us! Everyone else well played - everyone played FANTASTIC! Also big thanks to Biscuits who gave us coaching on the side line, and all the guys that were watching - great to finally get some support from you guys!

Sarah - that new stick must be brillant - we all want new sticks now. You were playing fantastic and I think that I will have to bring you out of the goal! Just make sure you run towards the ball to receive it.

Shorty - Seemed a bit silly but the reason for getting dick of the day was just because you were the only dick on our team! The boys suggestion!

BUT WELL PLAYED EVERYONE!!

Girls, that was a fantastic game. Everyone played really well, and we had some great support from some of the guys. Big thanks to Beanz and Princess who were umpiring. And a HUGE thanks to Biscuits for really helping on the sideline!! I really enjoyed this game - and I have heard that others have too! As I said at the end of the game it didn't feel like we had lost that much - and I think that just proves how well we did play.

Giggles - Considering the last time she played in goal was when she was 12 I was very impressed with her skills. The stick work that you use on the field was very helpful when in goal! Some fantastic saves! Well done!!

Darko - Always there when you needed her most! Some great tackles going on, but a great attacking player as well! Brillant!

Scottish - well what can I say really......! Great boucing technique! But well played.....your first full womens game, and you played really well!

That was the best game ever!! It was brillant! The defence was working really well, and as I said before, I still feel as though we were more at an advantage because we have played a lot more as a team! The tackling everyone was getting in there and having a shot! Some brillant goals by Sam, Darko, Jude, Kat (I think thats it - sorry if I missed anyone off). Defence, fantastic, the zoning is really working, like UWIC really only scoring when on a break.
We are really geling (spelling!?) as a team and thats great. Hopefully Biscuits will have a few points for us to work on. But bring on the Tournament!! We are going to kick some ASS!! hehe!!

Jude --> Set a really good standard at the beginning of the match, scoring two goals very close together! Brillant Play. Use the legs more often I think!

Leck --> Just for falling over the WHOLE time! Think that was more to do with the fact she was wearing trainers than anything else!

We did lose 19-1 but it was the best game of lacrosse I seen all of us play this year! The defence was working fantastic and even Uwic said something (the cheer at the end) I think that if we had had a strong attack as well (remember we did only have one attacking player) then I think it would have been very close.

Just keep it going girls!!

Jayne --> What are wee star!! Cradling was working wonders and was there when you needed her.

Sam --> Just for being so giggly the whole though the match! Though still managed to get Pip to drink 1/2 a pint because she didn't want to do it on her own!!

2nd Nov - BRISTOL

Even though it started a bit wrong with Pip getting lost completely, everyone played really well. Well done - the defence was working brillant. As I said to you before this is where Zoning really starts to work. Brillant play. That is how we want it done every time. I did hear them say that it seems like we had more players on the pitch at some points. We have the right frame of mind......just keep going! Well done girls!

Sarah --> Again some fantastic saves - Hope the head is ok from that hit.

Pip --> Really getting lost and getting really stressed - ask any of the girls that were in the car with her!! And then at the end of the match forget her bag was on top of the car and nearly drive off!! Ooops!

26th Oct 05 - SOUTHAMPTON

Dick of the day - Don't have one! Couldn't think of anyone!

Brillant girls - Pity we lost so badly because I don't feel that shows how well we did play! Defence was brillant! I think that we will stick to do the Zoning because that was working really well. The mid-field was working so much better and the attacking were taking the chances when they came!

Need to remember to really get down to the ball when picking up and the cradle it straight away - thats when they were getting us!

Sarah --> Brillant play in goal! You and Karen are set to be playing in there for the rest of the season! So good saves
