NASA National Meet Definitions and Descriptions

Meet

Description

Natural Nationals

The Grand Daddy of All NASA National Events. All records can be set or broken in this meet. This is our #1 event each year. All of NASA’s best show up for this Grand Event. It is topped off with our annual National Awards Banquet and the crowning of our Overall Best Athlete and our Top Lifters for the past year. If there is one National event you want to attend, this is the one. This meet is a must to attend if a lifter is serious about winning one of our Athlete of the Year Awards for the year.

High School Nationals

This is the original High School Nationals. 2011 marked our 28th Annual Event. This meet is copied by everyone but our meet was the first and the longest running HS Meet in history. NASA offers a wide variety of strength events for our high school lifters including Powerlifting, Power Sports and Power Press. Our awards are second to none and our best lifters receive $600.00 Championship Belts to top off the awards. Top to bottom, our Team Trophies are the largest in the world for HS Teams. This meet is often imitated but will never be duplicated. 2012 will be out 29th consecutive HS Nationals. Many have copied and attempted to imitate this meet but they will never be the “Original.”

Western States Nationals “Tom Manno Memorial”

NASA decided years ago to split our National Events into a series of regional national events so all of our lifters could have the opportunity to break our World Records. The “Manno” is our West Coast version of our Regional National Events. Our Top lifters from CA, AZ, NM, UT, NV and the rest of the country can break or set our World Records in this meet. Anyone from any state may enter this event as long as they meet the drug free requirements of each Division.

Bench Press & Power Sports Nationals

This meet is a specialty meet featuring most of our top Bench Presser’s and Power Sports lifters in all of NASA. Our Overall Best Bench Press and Power Sports Winners are usually selected from this meet annually. This meet is moved around to various sections of the country so all our lifters have an opportunity to lift in this event and set our World Records.

USA Nationals

The USA Nationals is a unique NASA National Event in that the lifters do not have to pre-qualify to enter this event. NASA conducts only 2 National Events each year where no qualifying is required and this is one of them. We do stepped up testing at this event since there is no qualifying involved. This meet is usually used as a selection meet when NASA fields teams such as our NASA vs AAU, NASA vs USPF and the NASA red vs Blue Team competitions. This meet serves as our East Coast National Event for our lifters to set and break our World Records.

Grand Nationals

This National Meet is the most moved and less spectacular of all NASA National Events. The same NASA principals and judging are used but the meet is usually held in a gym. This meet is important because it is easily moved and conducted but it gives many NASA lifters the opportunity to break our World Records. Same judging but less spectacular in appearance. It is usually held in an area of the country which NASA is eyeing for a future USA Nationals, BP & PS Nationals or other more flamboyant event which will be held in a Hotel

NASA World Cup

The #2 Meet of the Year for NASA. Many of NASA’s Best attend this meet each and every year. Championship Belts are awarded in this meet plus many extras such as Free Entry Gold Cards to the Over-All Winners. Most of the Athlete of the Year Winners and Finalists lift in this meet to make a final bid for the top spot at our awards banquet during the Natural Nationals. We invite anyone from any country to this meet each year in an effort to get foreign lifters to attend.

Unequipped Nationals

This meet is NASA Premier Unequipped Meet of the Year. All events are Unequipped and the competition for the Top Spot in the meet is usually very competitive. This is the meet to attend to test your actual true strength levels without the use of supportive equipment except Wraps and a Belt. This meet si specifically designed for our Unequipped Lifters and the Awards are second to none.

Ultimate Nationals

This is our new version of our Pro Championship Meet. It has been completely restructured to include Unequipped BP, Unequipped Powerlifting and Power Sports. If you want true head to head competition this is the meet for you. Only 3 weight classes will be contested, Light, Middle and Heavy. The final places are based on the lifter’s Total Coefficient. Each wt class winner will receive a $600.00 Championship Belt. 9 Belts total will be awarded. Cash prizes are also going to be added for the Top Spots in each portion of the three meets. We will be building on this meet each year so the prize money will grow each year.

Masters & Sub Masters Nationals

Our Masters and Sub Masters Nationals are conducted for the purpose of spotlighting our older lifters. There is no Qualifying for this meet except for the requirements for being drug free for the specific time requirements as indicated on our entry form. Championship Belts are usually awarded depending on the actual number of entries in the meet. Sub Masters lifters are those 30-39 and Masters Lifters are 40-and above. We offer 5 year age breaks in each Division and Wt Class. Equipped and Unequipped PL and BP, Push Pull and Power Sports are all offered in this event.
