The Rogers Park community is an economically diverse one and it is a core value of the Glenwood Sunday Market to make the market as accessible to all as possible. Therefore, it is an ongoing priority for the market to be able to accept LINK payments. We are proud to say the program has been live since the market opened in June, 2010.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants can use their Illinois LINK card to purchase vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, tofu, baked goods, vinegar, honey and more at Glenwood Sunday Market!
We will match up to $25 in LINK purchases per card holder, per market day. The offer will last while funds are available. Thanks to LINK Up Illinois and the Wholesome Wave Foundation, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, City of Chicago Department of Family Services and many friends and supporters of Glenwood Sunday Market, we help hundreds of people afford fresh food at the market each year.
Glenwood Sunday Market is pleased to partner with several local soup kitchens and food pantries who come to the market during our outdoor season. They share information about their programs and also welcome contributions of farmers market produce and artisanal foods from our shoppers.
In 2014, we partnered with A Just Harvest; Community Feast of United Church of Rogers Park; Food Not Bombs; Housing and Maintenance Opportunities for the Elderly (H.O.M.E.); Ignatian Services Food Pantry of St. Ignatius Church;
