Background
I grew up in the country and spent most of my
time in the forest. As odd as it may sound, I grew to love that forest.
It's very dear to me. I would spend hours building forts, playing
Rainbow Brite, swimming in the lake and rivers, hiking, camping --I was
certainly an outdoor's girl.
I was generally a well-behaved child. I was active in Girl Scouts and
Sunday School. However, I did have a year of outright and total
rebellion. In 7th grade, I was sent to detention almost every day. I
looked for trouble --constantly. I was an angry little pre-teen, for
sure. :P I think the climax of my trouble was when I took a can of
spray paint and decorated the school with no-no words during school
hours. Of course, I was caught and suspended for a couple of weeks. I
laugh about this now --but really, I'm glad I overcame that stage of my
life....one can only stay stupid for so long, ya know? ....the next
year, I was an Honor's Student....but somewhere deep down inside of me,
that rebellious child still lives. :lol:
Family & Friends- Family: I've got a momma and a pappa (named Mom and Dad
:P), two brothers (Joe and Josh), two sister-in-laws (Tracy and
Mandie), one sister (Sarah -- Professor Potter on HSWW), two adorable
nephews (Keaton and Devin) and a niece (Chloe). I've got too many aunts
and uncles to name....so I won't even bother.
- Friends: I've got two best friends -my sister and my
boyfriend (Sarah and Ian). Other friends seem to come and go, in my life, but they are
all very dear to me. There's Anna and Melissa (best-friends from my
childhood, though we're not as close as we once were, but we still hang
out off and on); and of course, there's Frank!
I've grown fond of everyone from the pagan meetup group too! Brian,
Tricia, Jamiee, Danielle, Nikohl, Anita, Rachel, Karen & all the
others!
- Online Friends: Well, there's Sara of course! We chat most
every day on IM and I'm glad to have gotten to know her. Matthew and I
have chatted a bit too, and I consider him an online bud. I've chatted with
most of HSWW, off and on --so really, I consider all of HSWW
to be my .. friends. :D I chat in MSN Chat, too --but most of those ..
friends have kind of slipped away....and I miss maybe one or two of
them. :P Though, I've found out that they've all moved over to buzzen.com --so I'll chat there every now and then.
- Teacher: I've taught 7th grade science, Montessori Kindergarten and Elementary Music.
- Education Montessori Teaching Certificate, Master in
Teaching Degree, BA in Comparative Religion, Minor in Music, and an AA
degree (yay for school!)
Religion
There are a few words to describe my religious viewpoints.
I truly believe that there's truth in all religions -though my
ideas never quite fit in perfectly into any religion. I'd probably do
well with the Unitarian Universalists.
Witchcraft - I am a witch. I write spells, work with herbs, use tarot,
etc--but I am not Wiccan. What separates me from Wiccans is that I do
not worship an external deity. I worship an internal deity --the
goddess within -simply 'me'. Also, I don't uphold the creed And in Harm Ye None, Do What Ye Will.... I believe there IS a time to cause harm. ...to everything there is a season... Check out Ecclesiastes chapter three -that's in the Bible.
Agnostic - Let me explain something first: I do not believe in a
literal spiritual realm. To me, deities, angels and demons serve as
metaphorical archetypes, not literal beings -though if you allow
yourself to be immersed into a 'fantasy' -play 'make-believe' - these
archetypes will 'come to life'. The real power comes from within,
however --these archetypes are only tools of the mind, not real beings.
My own experiences have led me to believe that this is so- yet I cannot
prove or disprove the existence of literal god/spirits/ghosts etc, so I
remain agnostic on this matter. Perhaps these 'tools of the mind' have
taken on real life, simply because enough people believe in them. Who
knows?
