I live in a 3 bed room house and 1 of the bed rooms is owned by the rats!! this room is made to be safe for my rats during free range as well as cage time, i do own cats but these dont have close contact and are not allowed within my rat room while the rats are haveing free range, and are rarely allowed in the room while the rats are in there cages, they only way they get it is if they sneek in..i have a locked door...so when i have my young nieces round they cant get into the room with out an adult present. i do this to make sure my rats are safe at all times!

My Rats Diet:

I feed my rats on 'Alpha' rabbit food, mixed in with dried pasta, dog kibble, and unsweetened cerels such as Corn Flake... My rats also have daily fresh fruit and veg, which they love! And i also give my rats treats of yogurt and baby foods :) i also provide EMP (bird egg food)

My Rats Cages And Toys:

My rats are kept in a number of different cages, as i dont have a 'favorite' cage. My cages range from Freddy 2s to Critter 3s.. My rats are kept on paper based cat litter sometimes carefresh, they also have shredded paper or tissue.

I try my best to make sure there cage is fun, so they have plenty to do when they are in there cages, i provide hammocks, hanging tunnels, hanging craves, igloos aswell as any nice things i come along on my travels..or when im on ebay! :)

I  make sure all the toys that my rats have are 'rat friendly' before they have them :)

Breeding:

I dont breed from all my rats, i have my 'Pet' and my 'Rescues' aswell, i only ever have 1 to 2 litters at one time. All nurseing mummy rats have lactol milk as well as foods with protein e.g. egg and meat, for litters please see current litters and planned litters, for information on my rats please look at 'my does' and 'my bucks'

And theres me, my name is Jessica Gibson and im located in Greater Manchester (Wythenshawe) i am 16 years old and i have owned rats from the age of 8! On pet forums i am none as Kassie Rat or SugarPrincess.

i currently have:

44 rats, 1 dog, 5 cats, 12 fish, 14 mice (and a rescue litter of 13days old), 1 harvest mouse, 1 sugar glider, 1 hedgehog, 2 rabbits, 1 ginny piggy.
