For my last holiday, I went to a beautiful island in Brazil, called Ilhabela. My friend Fernanda has a house opposite the sea!
We got there by car and, to reach the island, we had to cross the sea by ferryboat.

The island is surrounded by mountains and palm trees. There were plenty of yatches, coming from all over the world. They always come twice a year to run a competition.
In the morning, we used to go to the beach, had long walks and sunbathed. In the evenings, we had coffee in a bar.
The weather was always excellent. This is a fantastic place for a holiday!

The ruins of San Ignacio are an important tourist center. Thousands of tourists visit the ruins every year. The ruins were designed by the Jesuits and built by Guarani hands. Guarani crafts are very popular: tourists can buy ceramics, paintings, clothes, and ornaments for their houses. It is in San Ignacio town, 60 kilometres from Posadas, the capital of Misiones. The ruins are a great place to visit.
