The Chateau of La Roche Courbone and La Chateau de Crazanne are a short drive or cycle ride from the gite. The river Charente runs through nearby Saintes, river trips and boat hire are available. Cognac is about 45 minutes drive away, the major Cognac producers all have site tours available. The historic towns of Saintes, Rochefort and Saint Jean D'Angely are all within 15 to 30 minutes drive and provide either Roman or maritime historic sites. The oyster beds of the Oleron are close by.
There are many sports and activities to participate in to suit all tastes, these include, walking, cycling, horse riding, and water sports, or just sit by the river with your picnic and a glass of wine, watching the birds and the world go by .
