What is the money used for?

We want to keep the Girl Geek Dinner events free. The only way to do this is to get help and support. You can help us by making a donation. Even the smallest amount will help. All donations will go into a fund that is used towards the costs of running an event. By obtaining donations we will be able to keep costs as low as possible for the ladies attending and eventually hope to raise enough funds so that it is free for the ladies to attend. In the future we would like to be able to expand out and hold larger events so that more women can attend from the wider community. Our eventual aim is to promote learning in a technology environment and encourage more women into this field.

Will people know who donated the money?

We will create a roll of thanks to ensure all donations receive thanks for their kindness but will only list your name and not the amount donated.

May I remain anonymous?

If you wish your donation to remain anonymous and do not want to receive public thanks on the website, please add a note to your donation so that we know to keep your name confidential.

Will people know how much I donated?

Donation amounts will not be published on the website and will be kept confidential.

What about tax?

All donations received must be declared by Girl Geek Dinners and as a result a confidential list will be kept detailing payments received. We are not yet a registered charity but we are in the process of setting this up. At the moment you will not be able to claim the donation as a tax benefit but hopefully in the future this will be an available option.

May I sponsor you instead of donating so that I get something in return?

If you would prefer to discuss sponsorship instead of a donation and have specific ideas of how much you want to sponsor us for and how we can help you in return, then please email amanda.jackson@fronde.com with your ideas.
