Our Story and Helpful Links

Our Story is pretty simple.  We found out we were pregenant in August 2004.  We were a little suprised but happy nonetheless.  We went to our first appointment in October and found a little bleeding to be a problem.  They began to watch us closely but found that they really couldn't find anything wrong.  The bleeding was probably from an old blood clot behind the placenta but it didn't look serious.  They decided to watch it to make sure that nothing happened.  Therfore in November we started going to the doctor every two weeks and had a sonogram every month.  In December we found out we were having another girl.  We were so estatic (we wanted our daughter to have a sister).  Everything went along fine until March 9, 2005, 34 weeks in.  We went in for a sonogram and her heart had stopped beating.  Due to the swelling they estimated that she had been gone for about a week.

On March 11, 2005, we entered the hospital to deliver our precious angel.  They started the induction process around 7:00 that morning and she was born without any effort by 2:15 p.m.  The hospital staff was beyond exceptional and took pictures, foot prints, hand prints, and tried to dress her for us.  Unfortunately, due to her skin condition (the top layer of her skin had peeled back during the delivery process) they couldn't get clothing on her.  She was wrapped in a little yellow and pink blanket which allowed us to hold her.  We held her on a pillow because her body was so fragile that evertime she was bumped or moved she would start to bleed but we held her nonetheless.  We kept her with us until around 8:00 p.m. that night and then sent her to the funeral home.  We did not do an autopsy on her as we were informed that we only had a 5% chance of every finding out why she died.  5% wasn't high enough for us to allow her to be cut apart.  We wonder every day if we should have done this diffrently, but I know that she rests in peace even if I am left to wonder.

We laid her to rest after her funeral (March 15, 2005) during a private cemetary burial on March 16, 2005.  We choose to do this due to the cold weather at the time.   OUr three year old was very sick and we wanted to make sure that she didn't get even more sick by standing outside in the cold weather for 1/2 hour.  So Her father, I, and her Aunt Jan and Mama and Papa buried her with the help of our pastor and the funeral directors.  She is laid to rest only a few feet from my parents' twins.

MAY GOD KEEP ALL OUR BABIES SAFE, HAPPY, AND WARM UNTIL WE CAN HOLD THEM TIGHT IN OUR ARMS ONE DAY.
