Indian Kick boxer Mang Tombing Aims for Hollywood movies

After a long year of toiling sweats and tears in professional rings. The four times International Champion Mang Tombing, a young Indian kick boxing professional, who is also known as ‘Bruce Lee Return’ wants to enter into Hollywood movies.


Mang Tombing had many appearances in TV channels,serials, local and international media. Fearless Tombing and Edgar Noordanus, a famous Thai Kick-boxing Master-trainer had jointly shown ‘Thai Kick-boxing Demonstration’ telecast by NDTV Goodtimes two years back.


Many a times, Tombing has rejected media bites and interviews due to his contract. He has taught John Matulis, an American Jujutsu expert and Niko, Germany’s former boxing champion in free-style fighting. Beside this, he had also given trainings to many young and senior professional fighters from abroad,representatives of different nations and countries.


When it comes to acting in films, Tombing says,nobody did action better than real-life artists, since they are dealing with realities. They gained indepth experiences which added confidence to them.


Now Tombing wants to act in Hollywood action films and excel his skillful arts to the global audience. He is looking forward for the right person who could helps him get into big screens–Hollywood film.


“I am interested in Hollywood action movies. I need someone’s help from Hollywood film industry. If I don’t find, I should try to get in my own to do my life story,”Tombing said.


Mang Tombing’s directed “Fight CRIME”, a practical self-defense DVD video which was released early this year received wide appreciation from the viewers, especially from women and working girls in Delhi.


Tombing is currently giving self-defense and security combat trainings to various reputed security companies in Delhi and other metropolitan cities.


The unforgotten hero, brought-up from an orphanage home in Manipur’s Churachandpur district had faced several hardships in his earlier days. His die-hard attitude ‘to fight in the ring’ led him through many odds and fears. In those days, his meager earnings did not even meet his journey expenses. But nothing could obstruct him from his passion.


Some of his achievements are:

  • Gold Medal at Asian Kick Boxing Champion, 2004.
  • Winner of Clash of the Champion-II (World Open), 2005.
  • Gold Medal at Asian Open Mixed Martial Arts, 2007.
  • Gold Medal at Asian Muaythai Championship, 2007.
  • Second Best Fighter (World No. 2) at World Absolute Fight Championship (WAFC). 2010.


Crossing several hurdles, Mang Tombing is now regarded as the pride of India in today’s world. No Indians has ever brought as many laurels to his country asTombing does in the field of Kick Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts and Muaythai. He is the only professional fighter from one of India’s neglected state, who gets international recognition.


Tombing’s family moved to Bangalore few years back. An ex-serviceman, Pakanga, Tombing’s father visited his birthplace at Champhai’s Khawlian Tlangnuam in Mizoram recently.


Pakanga spent his childhood days in this village in the ‘50s.Tombing’s grand fathers Zama, Enggina and K. Siama, his uncle settles in Aizawl Chanmari west. Now, he wants to visit Mizoram and is planning to meet Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla

‘Watch to Fight Crime’, a self-defense video made by a young Indian professional kickboxer  was released by Shri Subhasish Acharya, Kotak Mahindra Bank on 16 March, 2010 at Ansal Plaza in Shushant Lok, Gurgaon.

 

The film was produced by Ultimate Combat India under the initiative of Mang Tombing Group & Co.

 

The film shows how to prevent from physical assaults or attacks. The central idea of this film is to impart a valuable ‘self-defense’ to the common people by using one’s own bare-hands and foots as displayed in the video. Since crimes are alarming in the cities or in any place, the film could be of an immense help to those who carefully watch and applied the steps.

 

Self-defense techniques contain the following scenes:

•    Defense from the Hold

•    Road Rage Situation

•    Survival Situation

•    Women Defense

•    Knife Defense

•    Gun Defense

•    Safety Tips


The valuable tips and suggestions were given in practical demonstrations. The film director is no other than a professional fighter. He is also a security expert working for various security companies in Delhi and NCR.

 

The film is not simply made, it is the product of the director, who himself felt the need of women safety. The increasing attacked on women wonders him why. Just for rendering humanity service, the director brought his dream into a movie.

Born and brought up in a small village, surviving difficulties, the hardship of life haunted him. In his strive to survive he now, emerges as the second best fighter in the world. Those who had seen his fight lovingly called him ‘fighting machine’.

 

Mang Tombing, born on 21st March1983 at Lamka, Manipur. He was the fourth among five male siblings. His father was T. Ngulkhangin @Pakang. When he was around three years old, his dearest mother left their home.

 

Living in a thatched hut since childhood, Mang Tombing always holds firms that God is trustworthy. He adored the tender love of his father and his four brothers. From the hardships that he has faced, he learned a lot that he utilizes for his benefits.

 

 He started to learn martial arts at the age of seven. Being devoid of the richness of the world, it is only the guidance of God that helps him. During severe winter he wakes up at dawn to practice martial arts. However, it is not only the passion that wakes him up early. He could not have a proper sleep as his bed has no clothes or mattress.

 

Sometimes he even imagines that he can levitate. Holding his hands together he closes his eyes, controlling his body and look towards the sky with belief. Does he float or not? People might mockingly call it martial arts. You have to possess a craze for it. People might call you psychopathic, but to really achieve it you need to be so.

 

 He was quite a popular fighter at Asian and world level. However, it was in MMA Championship ’04 and 2007 Asian Open Muay thai that he was really known at the world level. After the Asian open Muay-thai fight he was given several nicknames like, Bruce Lee Return, Mang“Swift”, Fearless Panther and many others. His fighting speed was compare to the swiftness of lighting. The fairness in his fight is what people think the best in him.

 

Recently during January 28-312010 he participated in “World Absolute Fight Championship” Almaty, Kazakhstan.In the championship he was christened ‘IndianTiger’. Under WAFC, he emerges as the second best fighter in the world.

MANG TOMBING TRAIN INDUSTRIAL SECURITY

Mang Tombing who left for Meghalaya on 31st January arrived back in Delhi on 8thFebruary after seven days of stay there. Tombing was there in the Indo-Bangla border state giving training to security personal of Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt. Ltd., a limestone mining industrial house.Tombing went there on the invitation of Col. Raghu Banerjii, theCompany Chief Risk Consultant. Besides, self defense mechanism, Tombing taught the personal the art of using stick, sword and guns.

 

Umiam Mining Pvt. Ltd. is situated in the Indo-Bangladesh border of East Khasi Hills. It is the main supplier of limestone, for both India and Bangladesh.

 

After undergoing a series of training, a closing ceremony of the camp washeld. The ceremony started with the lighting of the campfire by Professional Fighter Mang Tombing, Col. Raghu and other comany officials. The programme was attended by several Army officiers and dignitaries from the Border Security Forces.

SLC: Are you from China ?

 

Mang: Will you believe if I say I am from India ?

 

SLC: Your moves were like Bruce Lee, what kinds of style do you used ?

 

Mang: I dont moves like a monkey nor like a snakes, I fight like Mang Tombing. I Have no style in Particular, but I go for the style that works

 

SLC: You have some familiarity with Bruce Lee ?

 

Mang: When I was in Bangalore, people called me "Jackie" In Delhi they called Me ""Bruce, in Nasik "Swift" and in Burma 'Panther'. So I guess people called me according to what they thought I resembled.

 

SLC: Do you have any reason regarding these ?

 

Mang: They call me Bruce because of the similarity in my physical appearance. It surprised me that He (Bruce) also did the same training as I do..

 

SLC: What is your first reaction when you are in the Ring?

 

Mang: I feel that it was my duty to give the people what they are coming for-- the real show

 

SLC: You really are a great fighter, If I could invites a professional fighter for my country, you are the one I should invites.
