           HUNTING FOR TROPHY LARGEMOUTHS

AFTER LONG COLD WINTERS IN THE NORTHEAST THE ICE-OUT BITE IS AN ADDICTION YOU REALLY CAN AFFORD TO PASS UP. THE PIG ROUND-UP BEGINS EARLY.

SPRING WARMING TRENDS THAT ARE EXTREME CAN TRIGGER AN EARLY PRE-SPAWN TOPWATER BITE ON SMALL WATERS. BE ON THE WATER DURING SHORT SPURTS OF WARM SPELLS.

Targeting Big Bass During The Cold Water Peak Periods Is A Matter of Patience. Think "Dead-Sticking " And Meticulous Presentations. These Are My Preferred Time Periods To Be Hunting For Big Bass.

THE SPRING PRE-SPAWN BITE - PRIME TIME TO BE ON THE WATER . WATCH FOR WEATHER WINDOWS

DURING THE PRE-SPAWN CHOMP,  DAYS OF MULTIPLE BIG BASS ARE THE NORM.

On Certain Bodies Of Water That Contain The Gene Pool To Produce Giant Bass, Multiple  Trophy Bass Days Can Occur For Anglers With A keen sense of  When To Use a Variance Of  Presentations to temp them. I've had Days Where boating 10 to 12 Bass Between 4 and 7 Lbs in a matter of hours was the Case.  In The Northeastern Part of The Country, This would be considered a Big Bass Day Of A lifetime For Serious Trophy Bass Hunters.

EARLY SEASON PIGS - VARIABLE PRESENTATIONS

Concentrate On The Coldwater Peak Periods, Spring And Fall For The Largest Bass In The System. Focus On Variable Presentations With A few Prime Baits. Bite Windows vary.

TARGETING SPECIFICALLY GIANT BASS IS A DIFFERENT ENTITY - A SPORT OF IT'S OWN THAT REQUIRES A DIFFERENT MENTALITY.

Understanding the concept of trophy bass hunting seems to elude most newcomers to the sport. Being an entirely different game than tournament style angling, the serious "Big Bass Specialist" must possess the mental discipline, stamina, extreme patience and knowledge it requires to determine where, when and how, under an extreme number of variables, to target the largest bass in any body of water.. This means targeting primarily one percent of the fish in any system. Searching for these special fish takes dedication, enthusiasm, and the ability to percieve many changes in conditions that you will encounter on the water on a seasonal and daily basis. Learning to cope with these variables or variations, daily and during seasonal transitions with emphasis on seasonal habits, peak seasonal times, and peak feeding windows and time frames will all help you in your quest for consistantly landing trophy bass. Choosing bodies of water that contain the gene pool to produce giant bass is of the most signifigant importance. Many waters contain burgeoning bass populations. Few contain true trophies. After a lifetime of researching the habits of giant bass in lakes, rivers and reservoirs, I've compiled what I believe, to be the most important information any angler who is serious about hunting giant bass will need to learn to be successful.
