DRIFTING FOR FALL RIVER MUSKIES

There Are Many Productive River Tactics For Fall Muskies That Range From Trolling Swimbaits Or Musky Baits, Throwing jig N' Plastic Combos Or Drifting Live Baits on Drift Rigs. The Flash-Lite Blades From Mack's Lures Can Add An Attractive Piece To Your Drift Rigs. This 48 Inch Upper Niagara River Muskie Took A live Sucker Rigged In Such A way. The Flash-Light Blade Adds Sound And Flash To Live Sucker Rigs, Especially During Periods When The Water Gets Dingy After Rainstorms. If Concentrations Of Muskies Are Locating On Structural Elements, Try A Large Jig N' Plastic Combo After Marking Your Spots On Spots. Casting Large soft plastic creature baits is a another great option.

TACTICS  FOR LAKE MUSKIES THRU THE SEASONS

Early In The Season, Just After Ice-Out, Try Targeting The Secondary Breaks Off Major Weedbeds. Jig N' Plastic Combos, Slow Moving Oversized Plastic Swimbaits, Spinnerbaits And Many Types Of Jig Combos Work Well. Try A large  weighted Bucktail, Jig n Plastic Or Live Sucker Trailor On Em! As Water Warms, Troll Mega Sized Musky Baits At Higher Speeds. Don't Forget your Prop-Wash Rod Set-Up. Muskies will attack in the prop-wash close to the boat. As The Summer Peak Period Gets into Full Swing, Target Muskies At Night With the Same Presentations, But Don't Leave Out Your Topwater Arsenal. During The Coldwater Fall Peak, Live Suckers and Plastic Swimbaits, Along with Oversized Jig Combos Take Huge Fish. Trolling Covers Expansive Water, But Target Spots On Spots on inside And Outside Turns On Major Weed Flats Near The Deepest Water In the System.

NIGHT FISHING FOR BIG MUSKIES

Try Casting big topwater baits, grinding spinnerbaits and ripping big jerk-baits and soft plastic combos from early evening straight thru the next morning. Don't leave out fishing open water as nomadic Summer skis will roam the lake in no man's land during the warm water periods. These tend to be the larger muskies in the system. Try throwing over-sized topwater baits and Musky Spinnerbaits on the edges and over mid-lake  expansive flats.
