I am a small cornsnake breeder located in Eugene, Oregon. I have been a hobbyist breeder since 2003, and have a special interest in the ghost, motley and striped morphs. I have recently made some very exciting additions to my collection so future projects include butter motleys and motley/stripes, and I am also working on producing 'cinders', the new gene also known as 'z', anery 'c', and 'Ashy'.
I raise a small number of cornsnakes every year, keeping my numbers under 100 because I prefer to keep my hatchlings in larger shoebox sized enclosures instead of deli cups, and having fewer numbers ensures that the ones I do produce get enough space and attention. I will not sell a hatchling that has not eaten frozen thawed or live pinkies several times voluntarily on its own. I want anyone who does business with me to get a healthy snake that will thrive and have no problems.
If you are thinking of getting a pet snake, a corn snake is a great choice. They usually have very tame dispositions, adapt quickly to being handled, and are very easy to care for (but they do have several basic needs which should be met). Corn snakes are available in a wide palette of colors, or morphs. There are many genes which affect the colors and patterns of these snakes, but even the so called 'normals' or wild type corns can be stunning. A ghost corn combines anerythryism (a gene that removes red) and hypomelanism (which reduces black pigment), the result is a greyish animal with some black. I named my snakery 'The Ghost House' because they are my favorite morph, but I like the mario brothers game too :)
