There has been the need to revive all collapsed clubs in the country hence my nation wide tours.
As for the national team it was non-existence completely. As a result the Youth who are expected to take over from the Ageing players were not motivated enough to take to the game to reach stardom.
The responsibility fell on me to practically comb the entire country where Squash Clubs are located to revive them and donate Kits to generate interest among the various clubs.
In this wise cash and Kits came from benevolent companies like Geodrill Ltd, Vanguard Assurance, Price Water House coopers, Fugar and Company Ltd. Etc.
Individuals were also on hand to assist. Some of them include Ted Deignan, Amando Rogero etc. They have been very helpful and generous.
Generally, response has been quite positive and today?s inauguration give me hope that more active members will join hands to help re-activate the sport to take its rightful place among sports disciplines in Ghana.
IMMEDIATE ACHIEVEMENT
Two major sponsors have agreed to sponsor national tournaments in July and August this year. They are Geodrill Co Ltd, and Vanguard Assurance co. Ltd.
We are also to take part in the All African Games in Abuja this year. Sponsors are Oceanic Shipping Services Ltd.
We are proud to announce that the next Geodrill Tournament to be held next month at Tesano sports Club will sponsor the Winner to any P.S.A Playing country for exposure.
We have also been able to arrange for an international coach from UK who is expected in the country on 9th July 2003. Once again, I am happy to inform you that the proud sponsor for this is Geodrill Company Ltd.
In addition, an international coach will arrive in the country next month for a coaching Clinic for the benefit of our players Courtesy Geodrill Co Ltd.
Last but not the least, we plan to organize league matches to unearth talents as soon as possible to revamp our national team. All must help to revive and sustain the association for the good of all squash players in the country.
