Welcome to Gosforth Harriers & AC
Gosforth Harriers & AC is a small but competitive and successful club, based at Northern Rugby Club in the Gosforth area of Newcastle in the North East of England. We currently have a membership of about seventy-five active members ranging from children of eight years old, up to competitive veterans. We compete in competitons ranging from local road, cross country, and track and field competitions to all major national championships.
Gosforth Harriers was founded in 1927. The aim of the club is to encourage members to become active in competition, to become a team member and above all to enjoy the experience.

London Marathon
Our very own Juliet Birch-Machin will be running this year in the London Marathon on behalf of the Dementia Relief Trust.
For Dementia supports the carers and families of people with all forms of dementia, both informal and professional. It provides Admiral Nurses for carers and training for care workers. If you would like to sponsor her for this worthy cause, please visit her web site and donate loads!
South Shields HL Results and Pictures
Results and Pictures now available from Temple Park, South Shields, Harrier League held on Saturday 28th March 2009. This marked the 100th year of the Harrier League and was genearously sponsored by First Sport who handed out free running gear to all finishers.

Northumberland Schools CC Championship
N.B. Unfortunately the Inter County event has been cancelled due to bad weather (snow). As a result those who were on the fringes of selection for the National Schools Cross Country Championship have been asked to race at the Harriers League meeting at Cramlington on Saturday 28th February. Those involved should have been notified.
Well done to all those runners who recently ran in the Northumberland Schools CC Championship and a special congratulations to those that managed to qualify to represent Northumberland in the Inter Counties CC Championship to be held at Kirby Stephen Grammer School Sports College, Cumbria on the 7th February.
A special mention goes to Rachael Lundgren and Helen Waddell who came 1st and 2nd respectively in the County Inter Girls race, Helen Warburton who came 3rd in the Junior Girls and Jack Reed who came 2nd in the Junior Boys race.

Wednesday at Churchill playing fields (Track), Monkseaton 7 till 8.15pm
Saturday at High Gosforth Park (Winter) outside Border Minstrel. 10 am till 11am.
