Welcome

Welcome to our website.

We at the Morrissey-Solo Forum are participating in an experiment. To download Morrissey into the UK singles chart.

There’s a new download rule which allows any song, old or new, single or album track, to be counted in the official top 40.

A radio station recently did an experiment whereby two of their presenters asked listeners to download ‘Blame It On The Boogie’ by the Jacksons for a week to see if they can get it into the top 40.

It would be great if we did the same thing with a Moz/Smiths song.

The idea was that everyone on the Forum would suggest songs that could be downloaded into the UK singles chart and then a vote would be held to decide on one song to download. The poll took place last week and Life Is A Pigsty (from Ringleader Of The Tormentors) won. More than 200 members voted and we feel that as a community it is the song that best describes Morrissey's solo career, it's not radio friendly, and it would cause quite a stir if we actually succeeded in managing to download the song (which hasn't been released as a single) into the charts.

We decided to set up this website so that more people could get information and it would allow our experiment to get more publicity.

So far people have bombarded Morrissey message boards, live journals, and myspace with information regarding this project, and now it has a home.

What We Want

We're calling all Morrissey fans nationwide to download Life Is A Pigsty into the UK singles charts.

A week will be set (in the near future) where we will ask as many people as possible to download the track.

To keep yourself up-to-date please sign up to our mailing list and we will send you the information as it materialises. You can also follow the story as it happens at the Morrissey-Solo Forum. Please don't forget to join the mailing list so that we get a good idea of how many people are willing to download Morrissey into the charts.

All we ask is for you to spend 79p to get Morrissey into the charts.
