George Clyde Kell was born on August23,1922 in Swifton,Arkansas. He was a third baseman and a right handed hitter that played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1943-1946),Detroit Tigers (1947-1952),Boston Red Sox (1952-1954),Chicago White Sox (1954-1956) and Baltimore Orioles (1956-1957) In the early 50s he was ranked one of the best third baseman in the AL. Kell was a solid .300 hitter. He batted over .300 9 times in his whole career of baseball. George Kell's brother is named Skeeter Kell he also played for Philadelphia in the 50s.
