What is Engineering?

Engineering is the disipline of acquiring and applying scientific and technical knowledge to the design, analysis, and/or construction of works for practical purposes. The American Engineers' Council for Professional Development , also known as ECPD,(later ABET),defines Engineering as: "The creative application of scientific principles to design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, or works utilizing them singly or in combination; or to construct or operate the same with full cognizance of their design; or to forecast their behavior under specific operating conditions; all as respects an intended function, economics of operation and safety to life and property."One who practices engineering is called an engineer, and those licensed to do so have formal designations such as Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer. The broad discipline of engineering encompasses a range of specialised subdisiplines that focus on the issues associated with developing a specific kind of product, or using a specific type of technology.

Me

My name is Geoffrey Buck and i am attending Enginnering Technology 1 first period. My class uses a rotation schedule that involves Modules, Intructor, portfolio, and project. In the Module section we use learnmate to do modules in a chosen category. In intructor we go to see Mr Kinkaid (our teacher) and he tells us what we are doing in upcoming projects or other information we need. In the portfolio part we work on Portfolio assignments and documenting our Forums, assignments, pre-tests, etc. In the Project part we work on any porjects assigned by our teacher, we use the engineering Process to do so, documenting all the resources we use and writing down all our work.
