BlueGrass Music. Does Anything Else Matter?

Welcome

G'day from the town of Bendigo, (population about 85,000) bang in the middle of the state of Victoria, South-eastern Australia.  And welcome to our new and revised website.  It may be newly revised but is still as mad about bluegrass music as ever!

The year that (nearly) was!  After the high level richness of 2007 experiences as I visited bluegrass America, (see link below to Bluegrass Now article), you could say that 2008 has been a quieter year - but not really. With two shows per week on worldwidebluegrass.com and continually making new contacts and friendships it remains a busy and enjoyable year, though I confess to missing this year's I.B.M.A. Convention greatly.

Please stay and explore our site and feel free to comment in the guest book; your feedback and involvement is tremendously appreciated and valued.

Coming Up -

This year's National Bluegrass & Old-Tyme Convention takes place in Harrietville, north-eastern Victoria.  I'll be up there with digital recorder in hand and will insert an entry on this site all about it.  Audio clips from the festival will also be presented on the Wall-To-Wall Bluegrass Show soon.

If you love bluegrass music as a listener/devotee, musician, marketer or record label PR person, this website is definitely for you.  Sincere welcome.

You can tell it's me by the logo, the music and the Aussie accent!!

Bluegrass Musicians

I am always on the look-out for keen and talented bluegrass musicians or groups.

If you would like to send me a sample of your work I would absolutely love to hear it and it is quite likely to then be featured on a bluegrass show which goes around the world over five hours per week.  Give it a try; I'd love to hear from you.

How long have you been playing a bluegrass instrument?

What do you like about bluegrass?

Visits To Bluegrass America

I was extremely fortunate to be able to attend the IBMA Conventions in Nashville in 2006 and 2007.  In 2006 I spent all of my spare money (and a fair chunk that wasn't spare) and paid my own way.  In 2007 I was fortunate enough to receive an IBMA Development Grant which covered my airfares and my friends helped out with the other costs.  I stayed at home in 2008 but I am determined to make it back to my second home in Bluegrass America for the 2009 Convention.

If you feel that you could help, there is a "Donate" button at the bottom of this page.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

Drop me a line at geoff@worldwidebluegrass.com if you would like to know anything else about me or my bluegrass obsession.

Yours-in-bluegrass,

Geoff Morris
