DARLINGTON F.C "THE QUAKERS "

Welcome everyone, this is an Unofficial web site of Darlington F.C used in the fantasy football game MYSTIFY SOCCER and has no bearing on any member of their staff past or present. My name is Geoff Gale and i was allocated this team on Monday 12th December 2005 after been the manager of Exeter City since January 2005. In my first season hopefully i can get to grips with the game( always open to tips and advice)and progress keeping my sanity intact !  Contact me about any players you are selling or would like to purchase. In the real world i'am an official Darlington F.C supporter and season ticket holder so to manage my team on here is just the biz. Watch out Hodgey............

With the new season underway i have spent the majority of my time negotiating deals to improve the team. Once safety was guaranteed then the rebuilding started. When i joined Mystify the team was 3rd bottom with a squad of geriatrics and no money. With the drain on the funds ( more money going out than coming in due to the size of the squad).i needed to prioritize a few things. The season was spent trying to reduce the squad size by negotiating swap deals as money was none existing. Trying to bring in players in recognised areas to strengthen the squad. Possibly there was some good deals had due to the size of the squad i had the luxury in swapping 2  players for 1 which reduced the size of the squad and brought in better players in the areas i needed. Things started to improve slowly, but the transfer market was very frustrating spending hours searching for the right players and managers suspicious of some of the offers i was giving. Not that they were dodgy but they did not understand the size of my squad. I tried to look for teams in a poor position who had a weak squad with a highly rated player. Using my squad excess i could give them 3 average players for their 1, thus giving them strength in areas they needed. This seamed a logical solution to me but it was very difficult in negotiating this sort of deal, especially with the way the transfer system works.

Exeter finished 11th in the league last season and hopefully we can improve on that this year. A very frustrating season for me but still really enjoyed it   

Now into my second season 1st with Exeter City and no with Darlington F.C  (and hopefully last season was a good learning curve ) my aims are : 

AIMS :

To improve the team and improve on last seasons 11th place

To establish a team that not only plays good football but can hold its own with the best.

Build a strong youth team to feed the club in not only producing players for the future but also generating transfer funds for the club.

I will endeavor to keep this web-site upto date and will be done on a Sunday morning (due to work and family commitments).

Need a few players over the age of 28 to bring a bit of experience to the squad.
