Today in Weld County there are hundreds of children in foster care with more entering in each day. When children are removed from abusive situations they are done so in the condition that they are found. There is no time to pack a bag of their belongings. For their safety, these children are taken to a place unfamiliar to them, a place they have never been to before and left with strangers. All that is familiar to them is suddenly taken from them, leaving them frightened and confused. We are so very grateful for the homes that are provided by foster families.
At Genny's Hope it is our mission to reach out to these children, to teach them about unconditional love. We currently hold 3 events each year for our communities foster children. At our Family Day In The Park we have lunch and each foster child in attendance receives a NEW backpack filled with school supplies. Each year we partner with a local hair salon and provide free hair cuts for our communities foster chhildren and at our Christmas Party Open House each foster child in attendance receives a New gift and a New blanket. Although the gifts we give these children are small, to child in foster care they offer comfort, warmth, happiness and hope.
