The Second One

"Goddamnit, !! I told you not to put the alarm clock so loud!!" I yelled at him, as he got out of bed to put it off. "I'm sorry but otherwise I wouldn't wake up" he said and got back in bed. I felt the baby kick. "Stop it" I said and looked at me. "What did I do?!" "Ah, not you, the baby, it's kicking me!!" I said and smiled. He put his hand on my belly to feel it. "Stop kicking ur mummy" he said and I laughed. I was pregnant for 7 months and I was really getting sick of it. The pains I had everywhere, the fact that I couldn't see my feet, I just couldn't do anything without any help. We lay in bed for another 5 minutes before I kicked out. "You have to get to work you lazy ass" I said and he laughed while getting dressed. "I'll ask if I can go home early, okay?" "No, you don't have to do that.. I mean, I'll have the time of my life with my... coffee without caffeine" I said with a disgusted look on my face. laughed. "Aww, You know what? I'll rent you some movies and buy you some more ice cream okay?" he said in the cutest way possible. I laughed. "That's soo sweet... but I have to hear that for 2 months in a row already hun" I said and he laughed. "Well, I try, don't I?" he said and kissed me on my forhead and left the room.

and I met each other on a 'Taking Back Sunday' gig. I gave him my phone number and two days later we had our first date. It was so much fun, so we decided to go on another date, and another, and another untill we became pretty seriously about 'us' and stopped seeing other people. My friends met him and his friends met me. That was actually the point when I heard the word 'girlfriend' for the first time. introduced me as his girlfriend and that was kinda shocking at first, but when I heard more people talk about me as his girlfriend I got used to it. After another 4 months I moved in with him. It started with only sum clothes of mine in his closet and ended with my towels in his bathroom. Our parents met at christmas. We invited all four of them for a dinner at 's place. It was a real disaster! Our parents didn't like each other at all. They were just to different to even get each others jokes. But well, when I told the news about me being pregnant they all freaked out, which made me walk away crying and yell at them. When left them to find me they started talking and they found out to secretly have allot in common. They both thought the same things about our relationship... which wasn't really positive, but whatever. They liked each other, and they even saw each other without us knowing about it. Now we are 7 months later and we still live together. First I thought that would dump me when he found out how girls can be when they're pregnant, but he luckly didn't. I was actually surprised how understanding he was when he came home and found me crying on the couch for no reason. He just said that it was okay to cry and that he understood me, which even made me cry more.

"I'm off to work honey" I heard him yell from downstairs. "Okayyy don't forget to ask if you can come home early" I yelled back and I heard him laugh. "Bye" "Bye" and the door closed. I finally got out of bed when I got bored of my tv. I went for a quick shower, which wasn't really quick and walked downstairs. Those stairs still scared me. I fell down it one time, when I was pregnant for 3 months and I was so scared that there was something wrong with the baby. I couldn't go away cause had the car so I called the neighbour, who brought me to the hospital. There he called who came to the hospital as quick as possible where we found out that nothing was wrong. When I was downstairs I made sum quick breakfast and called . "Heey, yea, I need ur help.... yea I'm going to the supermarket... oh, oh okay, no it's alright, I'll call somebody else... sure, haha Bye" I said and hung up. She was on her way to work, so I had to call somebody else. She knew that had a day off today, so I called him and he didn't mind helping me.

"I'll be there in a sec!!!" I yelled when the doorbell rang. I was upstairs putting on sum make-up and quickly finished my lipgloss and went downstairs verrry carefully. I saw standing in front of the door thru the window and he was waving at me. I grabbed my coat and opened the door. "Heey" "Hello" "You look pretty normal for a pregnant person with hormones everywhere" he said and laughed. "Yea ha-ha" I said sarcastic and he putted his arm around me. "aw, well, I have a special surprise for you" "really?" "..no, but I am gonna push the trolley for you!! Aint that nice?" he said and I laughed at him. was one of 's best friends. He was with him at the concert and he hooked up with one of my best friends. Now he's together with , but it took a while for them both to admit they liked each other. When finally they knew it about each other, they secretly had a relationship. Everybody could tell they were hiding something, but nobody knew what. When and me threw a party I kinda walked into them having sex in our guestroom. I just walked in, saw the blanket moving and left immidiatly. The next morning brought them breakfast in bed and they just couldn't keep it a secret any longer.

"Whauw, you still fit in my car" said looking at my belly. "WE still fit in your car" I said and hit him on his arm. laughed. "What? You try having a child inside you, kicking you when you're trying to sleep" I said and put on my seatbelt. "I don't even want to try" he said and drove of. My phone rang. ", can you grab my bag.. it's next to my left foot" I said and looked at him with puppyeyes. "What? I'm driving!!" "I'm pregnant!!" I yelled. He sighed and quickly grabbed my bag. "Thnx" I said and answerd my phone. "Hey... oh.. Why not? Tell him ur gf is pregnant!!... well I don't care, is he standing next to you? Give him the phone... no, give him- Give Him The Fucking Phone!!" I yelled. I saw looking at me and I pointed at the road. "Oh yea" said, paying his attention to the road. "Yea, Hello, I'm 's pregnant girlfriend and I can't do anything without help... 's friend is even riding me to the supermarket right now!! He is going to push my trolley!! That's how pregnant I am, so let him go home early!!" "I am sorry sir, hormones you know" I heard say in the back. This gave me an idea. "Give now!!" I screamed angrily at him. He gave the phone to . "Okay, I am going to cry, say this "Ahw, Honey, don't cry, he can't help it that he has no heart" okay?" and before could say anything I was fake crying. With loads of deepbreaths and Matt was trying not to laugh after everything he just heard. "I'm sorry Honey.. shhht, don't cry, it's okay.. Of course not!! No, not everybody hates you!! Noo,, shhht" said and looked at his boss who sighed and nodded. "Okay, Honey? I can go home early today, but don't make this normality!!" he said. "Okay, see you later Bye hun" I said and hung up. bursted out laughing. "Those are the powers of a pregnant woman" I said and smiled.

"You really need pickles?" "Ohyea!!" "You really need that many pickles?" "They are all gone in 2 nights, trust me!!" I said and put the last can in the trolley. We carried on walking. ", you skipped the ice cream" said. I turned around. "Ohno, was already gonna buy me some" I said and wanted to walk away. "Yea..?" said and looked at me as if I was crazy. "Sure, take sum vanilla" I said, not looking around. "Yay" I heard say like a little kid. After sum shopping we were waiting in the queue. "So.. you already kno what it's gonna be?" asked, looking at me, waiting for an answer. "...what do you mean?" I asked confused, not knowing what he was talking about. He pointed at my belly. I smiled. "Yea, I know.. but I can't tell you, cause doesn't want to know, and I'm sure that you will tell " I said and started taking all our stuff out of our trolley. "Ahw, common!! I swear I won’t tell him, I won’t tell anybody !!" said, smiling at me. I sighed. "Nope, nobody exept me and the doctors know, and it's going to stay that way till she is born" I said, hoping that would get the hint when I said 'she'. He looked at me with his eyes a little bit squized. "... it's a boy isn't it?" I started laughing. "Yea!! IT IS A BOY!!" ".. I said she.." "I know, you are trying to make me think that it's a girl, while it secretly is a boy" said nodding as if he just found out that the world was round, which only made me laugh harder. My laughing made insecure. ".. Or is it a girl?" he said and bend over with his face towards by belly. "WHAT ARE YOU? TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE, YOU STOOPID BABY!!" he yelled. "Omg, , Shhht" I said. His screaming made loads of people look at us. "I only want to know what it is!!" he moaned. "I'm not going to tell you" I said while paying. looked disappointed. "....partypooper" he said and walked away with the trolley. I smiled cheekily and followed him.

"Hello?!?! Anybody here?! I'm home!!" yelled when he entered. "Hey Hun" he heard a male voice yell back from the living room. "What the-" said and quickly walked to the livingroom to see and sitting on the couch with the tv on. was sleeping against 's chest. "Dude, help me out here" said, trying to get up. I woke up, still in the livingroom, but now I was lying under a blanket and my head was resting on my pillow. "..?" I moaned. There was no reaction. I looked on my watch and saw that it was already over midnight. I sighed and sat up, verrryyy slowly as my body still was tired so my muscels wouldn't work properly. You kno, like, try make a fist after you've been awake for 2 seconds... I'm telling you, it's not gonna work. When I finally sat up I felt like I had something to do. I was bored of sleeping and didn't want to sit nemore. I stood up and walked to the stairs. "..?!" I moaned again and I heard sum mumbling. "Never mind" I whisperd and walked to the kitchen. I wanted sum pickles. I don't know what it was with me waking up in the middle of the night for 4 weeks already. Everytime I woke up I wanted to eat pickles. If we didn't have any, I would wake up my neighbours and steal their pickles. I heard somebody coming down the stairs very slowly but the last few steps were rushed. I turned around with a pickle hanging out of my mouth to see in his boxers. "What?!" he said. "Why didn't you carry me to our bed?" I said and swallowed the pickle. sighed. "Cause I can't carry 2 people at the same time" he said and sat down at the kitchen table. "Are you saying that I am too heavy?" I said, tears welling up in my eyes. "No of course not, I'm saying that.." looked at me and sighed. "I'm saying that I'm just not strong enough.. I have to go work out I guess". hated the way my moods changed in seconds, but he handled them very well. I smiled "Ah, my man is gonna be big and handsom and everybody will stare at him walking down the street while I'm holding his hand and-" I suddendly looked very very sad and I felt like crying. I was picturing me with and our kid. "Omg.. .. I don't want to be pregnant any more" I said and looked at him. He looked up, now fully awake and very shocked. "What?!" "This baby is going to ruin our lives !! We'll be stuck to it forever!! We can't go out nemore, we can't see our friends that often nemore, OMG our lives are gonna be hell!!" I said panicing. rushed over to me and hugged me as I started crying. "Don't think like that, our lives wont be hell" said calmly. "YES THEY WILL BE!!" I yelled. He was still holding me. "No they're not, listen, shhht, we have parents, neigbours, friends, and we can always get a real babysitter if we want to go out, if we want to go see friends and stuff" he said and pulled back. He looked at me. "But.. what if they... ruin my child!! I'm not going to leave my child with a stranger !!" I said, freaking out again. "This kid is going to take over our lives!! And, what if-What if it is a very very bad kid?! Huh? One with.. ADHD or something?!" I said, still crying. There was a silence. I looked at , trying to convince him that I was right. He took my hand and dragged me away. "Come with me" he said and walked to the livingroom. "Sit down" he said and walked to our movie collection. I sat down and put the blanket over me. "What are you doing?" I asked sniffing. found what he was looking for and put it into our VCR and sat down next to me.

On the TV I saw a little happy girl, running around in the garden. put his arm around me and I snuggeld up to him. The little girl seemed so happy. She was smiling and laughing while her dad threw her in the air and catched her again. That little girl.. was me. We watched the whole tape in silence. When the tape was over he looked at me. "Now don't tell me that your parents didn't look happy with you" he said and I smiled weakly. "Our kid can be like that! And who cares if it falls once in a while? You did and look how you turned out?!" said smiling at me. I put my hand on the back of my head. "There's still a bump here from when I fell out of a tree" I said which made laugh. "Then we don't let our child climb in trees, this is our kid!! We don't have to raise it the same as ur parents raised you" said and I grinned. "My mum's crazy" I said and also smiled. "Yea, just like-" he cut of, looking at me. I looked shocked at him but I still smiled. "Like me? You were going to say like me!!" I said and pushed him playfully. laughed. "Noo,, I was going to say, like YOU" he said.

One month later we were on our last scan. I lay down on the hospital bed and sat down next to me. The nurse walked in. "Hellooo" the nurse said as she entered. It was another nurse as the nurse who used to do the scan. and me both looked confused at each other. "Uhm, hey, I'm sorry to ask you this, but, can we please have nurse to do this?" I asked carefully. The nurse raised her eyebrows. "What, am I not good enough" she joked and smiled. "Nono, it's just that, with nurse we are... more... comfortable" said, trying to look as serious as he could. I was just smiling at her. The nurse looked at us with her eyes a little bit squized. "You're her pregnant best friend aren't you?" she asked and smiled. and I laughed and I nodded. "Ah, it's okay, she's been talking about you for ages!! Hold on, I'll get her" she said and left. grabbed my hand and squized it. "Our last scan!!" he said exited. "I knoww,, I hope everything is okay" "Of course everything is gonna be okayy!!" "Hmm, I hope so!!" I said and as the door opened and me both looked at the person who entered. "Thankyouu!!!" yelled and ran to me to hug me. "You just gave me £10!!" she screamed happily. "Watch out!!" said, jumping up. let me go and looked confused at . "What?" "You're crashing the baby!!" he yelled pointing at my belly. "Oh, no I'm not" "Yes, you were" "Now, who's the nurse here?!?” said with her hands resting on her hips. I giggled. sat down and turned around smiling. "Soo, last scan!! Are you exited?!" "Yea, pretty much" "You know that you're on the bc list?" said, putting on the scan machine-thing. "the what?" asked, looking way confused. "bc... birthday card?" "Nooo,, BABY CALL" said and we laughed. "Ah, this kid has to come out!! I'm sick of being pregnant" I said and sighed. was checking the baby and everything seemed okay. "Is everything okay?!" asked, looking away. "Yea, it's fine.. and why do you keep looking away?!" said looking funny at him. "I don't want to know what it is yet!! I'm going the old-fashion way" he said, still not looking. "Ah, boring" said smiling at me. "What do you mean boring?! I'm only making the surprise bigger for myself you know" said. "yeayea, well it's safe to look" said. looked around and when he saw that the machine was still on he quickly turned around again which made and me burst out laughing. "Okay, That was mean" said. "Ah, common, you can't really see anything on the scan if you don't want to" said and put it off. "So, everything is okay? We're good?" I asked. nodded. "Eeeeeverything is O-kayyy" she said smiling.

"AAAAHH, YOU FUCKING HOLD MY HAND TIGHTLY MISTER" I screamed at while pushing the baby out of me. "aah,, please, let me go" said with a really high voice. ", calm down, I can see the head already.. take a deepbreath and give me a hard push" the doctor said. I was totally out of breath, sweating like a pig and my doctor was way too hot. It wasn't nice at all to have a hot doctor!! You kno, he was.. pulling this kid, out of my vagina!! "Push , Common" he said. Next to me, was still dying from the pain cause I was seriously squizing his hand as hard as I could, using my nails. "Why the hell do I have you as my doctor" I moaned. "Push, Now!!" he said and I pushed. At that moment I said to myself that I was never going to have another kid if I had to go threw this again. "Okay the head's out" the doctor said. "The heads out!" cheered and smiled at me. I looked angry at him and his smile dissapeared very quikly. "Okay, one last push , and then you're done" he said. I took a deep breath and pushed. "Come on, Harder" the doctor said as if I was doing nothing at all. "WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE A HOT DOCTOR?!?!" I yelled, but everybody seemed to ignore me. I fell back on my bed and heard crying.

There was a knock on the door. "Hello? Can we come in?" I heard say. "Yea sure, come on in" said smiling. He was lying next to me on the bed. I was holding the baby, which was now sleeping. "Aahhw" I heard say and she rushed over to our bed, followed by . I smiled. "Say hello to Auntie " I said to our little baby. "It's a boy" said smiling. pointed at me with his mouth wide open. "I TOLD YOU!!" he yelled and I laughed. "shjush, you will wake him up!!" said. "What's his name?" she asked, looking at me. I looked at and he smiled. "This is little Jackie" said and smiled. looked confused and looked at me. 'Jack' I mouthed and she smiled. "aahhw,, hello Jack..-ie" said and looked at the baby. The door opened and two other people entered. "Its meeee" said. "Congratiualtionnnsss" she yelled and hugged me carefully. Behind her was . He also hugged me and gave one of those manly-handshakes, if you kno what I mean. "Good Job dude" said to and we all laughed. "Dude, what happend to ur hand?" asked . 's hand was covered in bandage. "Yea.. did you know that girls suddenly are very strong when they're giving birth?" said and I giggled. "aww, I'm sorryy" I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek. There was a silence where we all looked at lill Jack. "Are you sure it's yours?" suddenly asked . looked at me. "Yeaaah... why?" "He's just... so small" she said and they laughed. "Ha-ha, you better be careful, cause later on he's gonna be so tall, that he'll kick ur ass easily" said and pointed at , who laughed. Suddenly my telephone rang and answered it for me. "Hello, you're talking to the happiest dad in the whole wide world" he said and smiled. "ohheyy!! yeah!! It's a boy!! ... Jack!! Thankyou,, Yea I know!! Yea, yea here she comes, bye" said and handed the phone to me. "It's " I grabbed the phone "Heeeyy!! Yeaa!! Ah, he's soo cute !! He's sleeping right now... ah that's okay, we'll see you later, yea sure.. uhmm.. I can go home tomorrow so that wont be a problem.. okaayy, yea, Oh okay" I said I held the phone up. "all say Hello to .. and her new BoyFriiiiend" I said and everybody yelled "Hiiii". "Heard it? Haha Okaayy,, byeee" I said and hung up.

"Dad, common, I wanna play!!" Jack said, holding his little pink football. "Yea, common daddy, let's go to the park" I said and smiled. I knew didn't want to go to the park. sighed. "Why do we have to go to the park every Saturday?" "Common daddy, it's very sunny outside!! I can come with you, and watch you play footiiee" I said and blinked. "Ohh... ah alriight" "Yay, We're going to the parrrrk" Jack yelled. He was now 4 years old and he totally loved soccer. We left our home and walked to the park. I was holding Jack's hand and had his arm around me. When we entered the park I sat down in the grass as Jack threw the ball to . Every time kicked, I cheered. "Whooo, go Daddyyyy!!" and everytime would look at me as if he was saying "yea, whatever". After a while got tired and lay down next to me. "Daddy, why you stop?" Jack said and ran over. "You are a very, very, very good football player" I said to Jack and hugged him. "Are you gonna play with me?" he asked. "No, I'm sorry hunny, get your dad to play with you" I said and smiled at . He sighed. "Come here, Give me that ball" he said and sat up. Jack ran to and jumped on him. I laughed as he tickled him. took the ball and stood up. "Okay, I am going to throw it away, and then you can go get it, and we will count how long you will take okay?" said and Jack nodded smiling. "But to make it even more fun, I'll close my eyes" said and closed his eyes. I was laughing so hard. It was so cute to see them 'play' together. Jack seriously was in heaven. You kno, you have those dad's who work all day, and don't see their kid exept at dinner? wasn't like that at all !! He took time off work and made sure that Jack and I both got enough attention of him. He was the cutest dad ever!! It was so funny to see him, spinning around, making himself dizzy. I stood up and helped Jack spin around. We were all laughing. We stopped and he threw the ball away without looking. He almost fell over cause of the dizzyness so he quickly grabbed my arm. I hugged him and we kissed. "Stop moving" said and giggled. He lost his ballance and fell, dragging me with him. We both fell on the grass laughing. That was when we heard some cars break and crash.

We were in the hospital in the waitingroom. Those stoopid doctors said we had to wait outside till they knew something more. It was really killing us. Both our parents had come to the hospital immediatly when we called em. We had been waiting here for over an hour and we got tired from crying. 's head was resting on my lap and I was staring at the table that was standing in front of me. My mum and 's mum were both drinking coffee and talking a lil bit, while our dad's were quiet. I sighed. "How could I do this?" I heard say. "Oh no hunny, it wasn't your fault !! I was the one who said that he had to play with you while I knew that you were tired" I said. "...I made up that stupid game.. Which doesn't even exists" "Hunny stop it!! I dragged you two to the park!! It is not your fault!!" I said. There was a silence. ".. I made him like soccer" I heard say. That was when my dad said something. "God, will you please stop it?!?! Nobody did anything wrong so it's nobody's fault!! It was an accident!!" he yelled. We both looked at him kinda scared. "I'm sorry" he said. lay back down and I went back to my table-staring. Half an hour later the doctor walked in. 's mum rushed to him and we saw them talking. The doctor nodded and walked off. 's mother turned around and looked at me. "I'm sorry" she said which was enough for me and to burst out crying. Our Jackie was gone.

-2 years later-

I woke up. I heard crying in the room next to ours. I sat up and looked at . "... your daughter needs you" I said and lay back down. groaned. "In the middle of the night it's your daughter" he said and rolled over. I sighed and got up. I walked out of the room and stopped at the hall. I just stood there for a sec and walked back. "She doesn't want me, she needs you" I said and fell down on the bed. sighed. "You haven't even been in her room" he said and got up. I giggled and tried to go back to sleep as walked away. The next thing I know is waking up by somebody pulling my hair. "Ouch, , you're lying on my hair" I said and I heard him giggle. I rolled over and saw smiling, holding my hair. "Heeyy Hunnii" I said and sat up. I picked her up and put her on my lap. "She's beautiful aint she?" "Yea" "She looks like Jack" said. "Hun, all the babies look like each other" I said and laughed. "No I mean, her eyes.. they're like.. a mix of your eyes and my eyes.. Jack had exactly the same eyes" said and I stopped laughing. I looked at . He was kinda right. She had the same eyes. I was glad that we decided to have another child. First I really didn't agree, cause I kept thinking about little Jack. I thought I would be like, overprotecting the second one after the accident with Jack. But this situation was totally different. In the nine months that I was pregnant I tried to do everything different. If everything went the same, I was sure I had to think about Jack all the time. So, I was also very glad that my second child was a girl. That totally changed everything. Luckly thought the same about it, so there weren't big arguments or anything. I guess that in a way we would be rememberd of Jack every day. We had loads of pictures of him and we made this little corner in the livingroom that was for him. Jack's little corner. We knew that he would be in our hearts forever.. we only had no idea how we had to explain this to later, when she would start asking questions. Because Jack was only 4 years old when he died, everything would be new for us, which would be very weird because we already had the first four years with Jack. There were still nights when and me met each other in the kitchen. We would have had a bad dream or just couldn't sleep because we kept thinking about Jack. We still had little arguments about him, but quickly sorted them out. There was no use in fighting over something that couldn't change anyway.

"You go back to sleep" I heard say. He was staring at me. "What?" I said and looked at him. "You've been staring at for the last 5 minutes... I'll call a babysitter ok?" he said and smiled. "Nono, I was just... thinking... dreaming, I dunno" I said and smiled back. "Ah, well, I got to get up, going to call sum friends if they want to ride" "want to ride where?" "You kno, we have this 'day away' which changed in 'weekend away' at work? Well, we still dont have enough cars to go to that lake place" said and got out of bed. "well... why don't you just say, 'we'll meet at the lake, see ya' and just.. leave?" I said and laughed. "You know I can't do that" said, looking for sum clothes to wear. "Babe, bathroom" I said and left. I looked at . She was just looking around, sitting on my lap. I was holding her hands... well, no, She was holding my fingers. She couldn't walk yet, but she crawled around the house whenever she could. She also didn't talk yet. Only babytalk, which was the cutest thing ever!! walked back in. "They're not in the bathroom" "Ah, men!!" I said, getting up and handing to and walked away. I heard talk to , you kno, with that weird voice which people always use to talk to babies. I laughed and found his clothes, yes, in the bathroom. Walking back I thought about that weekend at the lake. I knew that I could come with him, but that would mean that I had to leave here. Well, not exactly here, but we had to bring her to my or 's parents. "Here u go hun" I said, throwing his clothes on our bed. "Huh? where were they?" "In the bathroom!!" I woke up in the middle of the night. I looked beside me but there was no . I dreamed something scary, but I couldn’t remember what. Well, there must have been something that woke me up. I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I was expecting to see , but I didn’t. It was dark and empty. I turned on the light and looked at my reflection in the mirror before noticing a little note that lay on the sink. I picked it up and read ‘Go outside and follow’. Follow what? But, as curious as I am I put on some warmer clothes and shoes and stepped outside to find all these little candles. There were loads of em and I just simply followed them. “Hello?” I stood still as there weren’t any more candles to follow. I was now standing next to the lake, between some trees and bushes. What the hell was I doing here? I heard some giggling from a bush and heard someone move. I turned around to see somebody push out of some bushes. “. What the hell are you doing out here? It’s cold and late and dark, and I woke up with out you and then I went to the bathroom and you-” I started rumbling. “Woman!! Please don’t make this harder than it already is..” he said. I looked confused at him and then at the bushes behind him. I could see somebody, but I couldn’t really tell who it was. put his hand into his pocket and took something out of it. “What’s that?” I whispered. smiled at me and got down on one knee. “My gosh” was everything that I could say. I could see that was nervous. He was trying to find the right words, which was funny but also very sad to see. opened the little box he was holding and looked at me. Before he could say anything I smiled and said “Yes”. smiled, stood up and hugged me. “I do. I do” I said, giving him little kisses on his mouth. laughed, almost crying of the nerves.
