Welcome to Garrett & Kristen's wedding website! Yes, we still have one even after the wedding! I've been updating registries & blog every now and then, so feel free to browse around.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful wedding weekend and all the gifts & good wishes we have received! We had so much fun with you all in Vermont. We're now settling in to our new apartment in California:

How we met: We met at Middlebury College- through track parties, dancing at McCullough, skiing at Mad River Glen, house parties at Earhart, and hikes in the woods we became more than friends. After college we had some long-distance years, but something kept bringing us back together, til we finally got an apartment together.
The engagement: Garrett's family has a cabin on Harvey's Lake in West Barnet, Vermont, and we love to go up there every summer to relax and spend some time with his family. This year, we were there Labor Day weekend, and I was working on a big grant proposal. I got up Sunday morning and decided I needed to head back to Boston to finish my work- which seemed to make Garrett uneasy. He said I could leave tomorrow, but not tonight. And then he ran off to the car, saying he needed to pick up some syrup for our pancakes for breakfast. About two hours later, he came back, looking flustered, and suggested we go for a hike. I thought it was a little funny to not invite his family, but we drove off for a "romantic hike." Driving through Peacham to find the trail, everything was completely picturesque. Once we finally found the trail (after asking at least 3 farmers), we parked, and Garrett pulled out a suspiciously large backpack for such a short hike. We walked around a bit, trying to find a good place for a picnic, and finally settled on the top of the hill, overlooking a beautiful Vermont scene. When Garrett pulled out a brand new picnic blanket, a bottle of wine, and my favorite cheese, I was about to say, "What are you going to do, propose?" But I held my tongue- wondering. When he actually did get down on one knee, I couldn't believe it was really happening. We had a wonderful picnic, bursting with happiness. Later that evening, he took me to the Wildflower Inn bed & breakfast to continue our romatic engagement day. Despite the fact that Garrett had to reschedule everything from Monday to Sunday, it all went perfectly!
We knew we wanted to get married in Vermont- it was the natural choice, the place we both love, and where we have shared so many special times in our relationship. We are so excited for our Vermont wedding, and sharing it with our friends and family!
