This WebQuest is a multi-skill, multi-task, student-centered learning tool designed to enhance your understanding of the solar system. The project challenges intelligence, creativity, and problem solving abilities through the use of group collaboration. As a group member, you will fulfill one of four roles, each having a multitude of responsibilities. 

 

At the outcome of this project, your ability in the following areas will be increased: 

Research – You must search various Internet web sites, evaluate the information, and collect needed data for your assigned role.

 

Analysis – You must analyze data collected and present it in a logical, informational, and evidence-supported position to convince the captain of your decision.

 

Data Collection – You will collect various data from several Internet sources.

 

Writing – You must maintain notes, complete your TechSpec Report, and write your part of a presentation either using Power Point or other approved multi-medium.

 

Technology – You will use various computer programs such as word processing, data organizers for data entry, Power Point, or other multi-media for your group’s final presentation.

 

Although this project is fun, your thinking will be challenged, and your knowledge will be increased to fulfill the purpose of this project; learning about the solar system. As part of this project, Pluto was included as a learning tool so you can understand why Pluto is no long considered a planet.
