Hey gang... well the ol' Gaycanuck woke up today and after a good hack-attack I think I all but dug myself out of this terrible flu. I just got an email from one the young girls I signed up to sell AVON and she told me her and her partner have been sick for over a month now anad have been all but housebound because of it. I hadn't heard from her for a while and I was quite worried. I was glad to hear she was all right. I know several people who have had this awful flu/cold and the length it stays with you. Today is my first day back at work in over a week. I am still slightly fluey but nothing like last week. I was like walking death, exhausted and bummed-out I had gotten so ill. My bros Marc, Hugo and Brentage have been there for me, buying me boxes of Kleenex and cold meds. Russ bought me a bunch of oranges [which I normally never eat] so it has been nice to have good friends around me. My blog buddies Holly and Lady Wolfen Mists have also been sending me their positive healing energies! OMG, I haven't been out of my apartment for over a week...It's time to re-join the land of the living!

It was a great day to be a CANADIAN! Our hocket team won, a perfect end to a great Olympic Games. I have to admit tho, I am glad to say: BUH-BYE... adios... au revoir... It has beed a crazy, noisy, intense 2 weeks in my neighbourhood and city. This morning it is eerily quiet. Just street sweepers and the usual Monday morning work crowd. Yesterday Marcus and I went thru the crowds and took some vids and pics after we won the game. Check it out at my blog www.theinfamous.ca I have more of the evening crowd as well. I will post that blog tomorrow. But the rest of the day today I am still nursing the last vestages of this cold/flu I got last week... I am wiped. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH... the silence LOL

It started out as a simple cold..now it's laryngitis! Yep the ol' GAYCANUCK has laryngitis, so after a visit to my favorite Dr. Tracy [hubba hubba] she told me that is why I no longer have a voice. So I am banished to bed... green tea/w honey... REST and some Benylin DM. I was taking an expectorant type of cough medicine and NyQuil but she told me that was only exsaserbating the problem. I have just had the day off and I am lying around. Apparently there is a bad cold/flu going around Vancouver... They are calling it the OLYMPIC FEVER LOL. She said she has had over 30 patients come in with this and it always ends up with laryingitis. And I will have to stay indoors and stay off my feet for another 3 or 4 days. That's why I haven't been online much or our with my bros taking vids to post on my blog. But don't worry, I am already feeling much better this afternoon. I will be up and attem soon.

It was an adventure! Hugo a Go-Go, Russ and I went to an OLYMPIC game last night. It was intense. We first stood in line to get in the gate... then stood in line to get thru security... then walked a mile to get to the stadium...where we stood in a HUGE cattle-call until we went up some scary stairs to stand in line again at the staduim. THAT was exhausting enough. We walked around the place only to find we had gone in the wrong direction and had to double-back and go around the staduim yet again. By the time we got to our seats an hour and a half of line waiting and standing we FINALLY got to sit down. WHEW! The game featured FINLAND vs GERMANY. Finland kicked butt! We really enjoyed the game. It was great to watch some hockey without any violence, just good sport. I was amazed at the way the whole package was put together. Fun, exciting... When the game was over we walked back and couldn't believe the crowds that were on the streets... The OLYMPICS is now half over and I have to admit it's been pretty wild so far. There is a new OLYMPIC LINE train stretching from The CAMBIE STREET BRIDGE to GRANVILLE ISLAND. Marcus and I decided to take a trip on it BEFORE the games start. It is on the old rail line that the cable cars used to use decade ago. The cars are being lent to us by Bombardier and are going to be returned after the games. They are a skinny metro style cablecar then ones that TORONTO has implimented. There was a guy giving a guided tour as we rode. It was really cool.

WOW!!! I am in total shock. I JUST WON BLOG OF THE WEEK!!! I almost crapped my drawers. Today I am setting up my new computer and my poor brain is freakin' fried...totally burnt. So winning this award has made my week. YEE-HA!!!

At one point, when I became ill and all seemed lost, it was the only thing that kept me sane and motivated. I also have a popular blog called www.theINFAMOUS.ca. aptly named for me by a fine young writer from XTRA WEST. This site and my blog are about my life here in VANCOUVER, CANADA.
