~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Samhain, at 15 degrees of Scorpio, is the time when the veil between the world of life and the spirit world becomes very thin.  It is the third and final Harvest, the end of the old year, and the beginning of the dark of the Winter season:  the time which stands outside of time.
We acknowledge the place that Death has in the cycle of life.  This is the end of the Celtic year. The Sun King has left this plane, and now rules from His realm in the Underworld.  The Lady grieves and the world grows colder and darker.  The last of the crops are harvested and stored.
We dance around the flames as we enter the Castle of Arianrhod.  We remember our ancestors, and honor all those who have come and gone before us.  We invite them to join with us in our Feast.  The Sidhe are also present.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The New Year, for us, will not begin until Imbolac. The Dark Time between Samhain and Imbolac will be a time of waiting, a time of introspection, and a time when shadows walk in the darkened days, and we huddle together around our hearths during the long, cold nights.

This will be a time to value our families and friends who we cling to, to appreciate our efforts of the past year, and also a time to look to the future and decide what we will choose to bring into our lives in the coming season.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is an Open Circle. Everyone is invited to attend: both novice and experienced practitioner alike. Children and babies are also welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Halloween costumes are optional, but many people will be wearing them. We are asking for a $1.00 voluntary donation per person, to help defray Festival expenses.
We will begin gathering at 4:00 PM. There may be items for sale by private vendors before the Ritual. We will start the Ritual at 6:00 PM. If you arrive late, you will be able to observe from outside the Circle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We will be Feasting after the Ritual, so please bring a dish for the Pot Luck, and bring your own non-alcoholic drinks. We are a 'Dry' Circle. No drugs or alcohol are served at our activities. Food brought for the Feast may consist of anything you choose.

There will be a Raffle during dinner to raise funds for future activities. Any items that you might wish to donate for the Raffle are always gratefully accepted. Many thanks to those who have donated items in the past.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please DRESS WARMLY and bring a flashlight. There will be a propane heater available for warming up, and a few lanterns so that we can see after dark. Don't forget to bring a chair or blanket to sit on!
Feel free to arrive early (after 3:00 PM) to help set up. We can use tealights, clear plastic cups, and orange plastic pumpkins (available at Wal-Mart for 97 cents each). Please let me know if you can bring any of those items.
Directions:
The Ritual area will be near enough to the road that nobody will need to walk alone at night to and from their car. We will be right next to the parking area.
