The Rapture
The Rapture is a major new British movie which was shot in Essex and London.
This film has been described as a cross between James Bond, The Da Vinci Code and The Bourne Identity It has an impressive cast including not only Gary and brother Martin, but also stars amongst others, Danny Dyer (Football Factory, Severance), Jaime Murray (Hustle, Dexter), Billy Murray (Eastenders, The Bill), and BAFTA Award winning Phil Davis (Vera Drake, BBC1’s Bleak House, Quadrophenia), .
The Rapture is the first time in 18 years that Gary and Martin have appeared together in a film. The last time they acted together was in the hit movie, The Krays, in which they portrayed East End gangsters, Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
The plot revolves around the race to stop an international artifact smuggler from stealing the Spear of Destiny from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. His political puppet masters want to extract the DNA of Christ from it in order to fulfill an ancient biblical prophecy of the second coming.
The Rapture is the first of a quartet of films called, Destiny.
The Rapture is written and directed by William Steel.
Filming of The Rapture commenced on Sugar Quay Wharf, in London’ on 8 October.
It is due for cinema release at Easter 2009.
