Illinois KISSATA

For several years now we have been posting information for citizen’s of Illinois to gain the knowledge and skills needed to help defend their community from Disaster, both natural and man made. It has been a lot of fun working and very educational building relationships among other concerned citizens.

Concerned Citizens of Northern Illinois, a Training Cadre, has created this site for those interested in Homeland Defense and Preparedness. We hope that we can provide a service to all likeminded groups in Illinois and all KISSATA based Civilian Irregular Defense Groups (CIDG) nationwide, by providing helpful links/contact info to all KISSATA units in the U.S.A., and to any training available in the State.

We believe that Citizens need to protect their own and prepare themselves, their families and their communities, to deal with a terrorist attack or major natural disaster.  Our platform is held up with three very stout legs.  Those legs are made up of both old techniques that worked well in their day and new techniques, so that as many bases are covered as possible.

That First Leg is Marksmanship. A firearm and the ability to use it proficiently, is not only an incredible deterrent, it also is an excellent last resort defensive tool.  We believe in accuracy first, and then speed and our training guidelines reflect that. While not endorsed or promoted in anyway by the RWVA, we encourage participation in their wonderful Appleseed Project in order to gain the skills needed to be effective with a rifle. It is a family friendly program that allows your entire family to train along side of each other.

The Second Leg is Patrol/Recon. If you do not know your immediate area, how will you defend it? Again we promote a combination of old and new techniques that can be easily adapted to your AO (Area of Operations), whether it is rural, suburban, or urban. The KISSATA Concept is the backbone of this leg. KISSATA believes in the Keep It Simple (don’t be) Stupid SOP and it allows everyone regardless of walk in training or equipment to participate. You do not need expensive high tech gear to make a difference using the KISSATA Concept and that is why we use it!

The Third Leg is Survival/Preparedness. Many folks hear the term survival and start thinking of being stranded on a deserted island or lost in the woods. While there is certainly an aspect of that, we are directly referring to your family’s ability to survive disaster caused by nature or man. If it was just you, it would be easy, but what if you have a family of 5, or are caring for your elderly parents? What about your friends?  How about a situation where paniced strangers surround you, and you need to make a decision, lead or leave? If you truly want to survive you must consider these things and prepare accordingly.

As already stated, those three legs hold up our platform. That platform is a composite of two things. The first ingredient of the composite is the Training Cadre concept.  This is all about learning from each other as both an instructor and a student.  We all bring something to the table, and the sharing of knowledge and teaching of skills improves all of us. The next ingredient of that composite is the actual application of that training to our AO’s via Civilian Irregular Defense Groups. That means we fully encourage participants to build their own active CIDG to help defend their community.  This is a very important step and is all about following through and being an asset to your community.  We feel that the Bill of Rights protects our abilities to do this, and therefore we must also protect it. We feel that the average citizen should be an asset to first responders in any emergency/disaster, not a burden.

Racists, Bigots, Religious Fanatics, Conspiracy Theorists, Ego Maniacs and Tyrants need not apply. We do not care what your race/religion/political party is. What we care about is that you are a true patriot, active in your community, are willing to uphold and defend the Constitution of The United States of America, and you are willing to defend your family, community, state and nation against terrorists, looters, and tyrants.

While we all have strong political and religious beliefs, we do not distract our training with our own opinions or the latest conspiracy theory. We keep them to ourselves and train. Also, we do not believe in a rank structure. All Rank in a CIDG does is cause testosterone/ego induced issues among it members which in turn destroy the fabric of the group. If you feel that you need Lt Col in front of your name, please move on, you will not be happy here.
