This year, Mr. Jim Stewart has employed a group of senior and junior students of Garfield-Palouse High School to assist in a nationwide competition called the JETS National Engineering and Design Challenge (JETS/NEDC). This competition is a team based activity in which a group of students is to work together to develop and design a new invention which can be used to help disabled persons in the work place. These students will receive guidance from Mr. Stewart, the high school mathematics teacher, and engineers from Schweitzer Engineering Labratories, inc. The Gar-Pal Engineering Team is a crack team of young men and women interested in engineering. The team is made up of Colby Cocking, Sean Neal, Miles Pfaff, Katie Redman, Anna Iverson, Spencer Grey, Bridget Bower, Steven Tronsen and Aaron Rager. This team is one of few who have joined the JETS/NEDC race, and is one who hopes to excell in the challenge overall.
