We're here to help you take a gap year. Taking a year off can be a great thing to do before college, during college, after college--whenever you need it. We are both so glad we took gap years before starting college, we wanted to help other American students take time out of the seemingly endless years of school, stress and homework. Please email us at
gapyearsite@yahoo.com with questions, ideas or suggestions!
This is a place for students considering taking a gap
year to find resouces and ideas, as well as for those currently in gap years
to connect and share advice. If you've already taken time off, please write to us about your experience to include on the site.
Here are some reasons we came up with for taking a gap year:
- learn a new language
-
travel
- recover from burn out
- chill
- try out potential professions or careers
- improve/learn about your self
- widen your perspective (increase points of reference)
- volunteer help the world
- make friends from all over the world (or cool ones you haven’t
met from your own country)
- learn new skills
- date cool foreigner boys/girls
- better prepare your self to take advantage of college
opportunities
- figure things out and become more mature
