A Leadership Fraternity
Theta Xi Fraternity is dedicated towards creating successful college graduates, and to ensure we do so, we offer an atmosphere that helps develop our members with leadership skills. Though we concentrate on leadership we are still a social fraternity geared towards fun events and making friends. Some of those events include an all day paintball trip, intramural sports, dinners, card tournaments, and formals. We also raise money to support Habitat for Humanity and spend our Spring Break down in Florida building homes, something that has helped us get a national award 8 of out the last 10 years.
Leadership that you can achieve by becoming a member of Theta Xi:
1) Develop time management skills. Balance your time between class, meetings, and our study program to help with that first one.
2) Organize events and assign duties to members. Our social chair gains so much experience by setting up events throughout each semester and his committee is there to help him out. We even have training retreats lead by our social chair to build everyone's skills and confidence.
3) Run an organization. Each member has their own part in running the fraternity. Whether you compile our average chapter GPA, organize a fund raising event, implement committee work, present accurate accounting spreadsheets, or chair our meetings you will develop responsibility and an understanding of the world outside of waking up and going to class because you are eventually going to graduate...right?
4) Help the community. All good leaders understand the value of being able to help someone other than yourself and we make sure members do just that. Ever semester we hold philanthropy events to help raise money or to provide a helping hand. In Florida we build houses and back home we raise money for donation.
5) Experience formal leadership training. Theta Xi Fraternity offers three training conferences every year. One is a district conference held between the chapters in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. The other two are located in the Ozarks of Missouri. These are our leadership academies, a four day conference that will develop leadership skills based on modern leadership mechanics. They are also a blast to go to, just ask one of the brothers.
