School-B.H.S.V.A.
To Sweat Equity Enterprises, I am a 9th grade student in Bronx High School of Visual Arts, I always wanted to design clothing that I could wear especially for the teenagers of toady's market but your program takes it to the next level. You help us design hats, bags, watches and even cars! And, still each year the program still grows opening even more windows of opportunities in to jobs in this world. But the best part of the program is to actually make the products from our designs and those products could be put in to large company's stores. I live in a community where what you wear tells who you are so I would design clothing for people that expresses who and what they are. I am also good with speaking in crowds, because I am a very outgoing person. I know how to get a team of people on my side, or with my opinion. There have and will be times that I have to accept that I may be wrong about something or take criticism and accept the flaws in my work and use that to help me perfect my current project. I also have the skills to work around or edit certain problems. For example if there was a problem with my team and I will find a way to compromise the problem. But I think my best skill is that I'm very good with computers I use programs like Photoshop to edit and modify pictures. I also use Fruityloops to create music beats. I basically can take things to the next level using a computer. I would be so glad if I was chosen to join your program, I know you won’t regret it. Thank you in advance,Troy Cordice

Thematic Essay - Economic Systems of
Manorialism in West Europe
Did you know that in west Europe there was a different type of economic system then us here in America. They used a system called Manorialism or also known as Seigneurialism where there was a "Lord" and a "Vassal". The lord owns the manor(land) that the vassal lives on and the lord allows the vassal to live on his manor for protection. But no one leaves the manor because is self- sufficient. But the lords land was given to the king.
But West Europe was not always use a manorialism economic system it used to be a Feudalism economic system where there was no kings just lord fighting for each others land. That was one of the down falls of feudalism, the fight for power and not having a possess of whom gets power after land is lost.
Also the manor had many economic features such as that the way you got power in that time was only being born in to a family owning there own land. So no matter how hard you work you will never get any higher in power. Also another feature of the manor in West Europe was that everything the lord and king needs are in side their manor such as a church or there crops are all in side the manor so is very self-sufficient.
Even though Manorialism happened many years ago it affect how our economic system is today. Because if it was not for Manorialism our economic system was really different. Now if you think of it our economic is somewhat like a more free formed Manorialism system. Our king is the President, the mayor's are the lords and we are the vassals. But it was more free because we can leave the land at any time our go to another state/manor. And we get what we need from other states not only from the one you live in.
In conclusion, I told you about Manorialism in West Europe. I talked about what caused the development of it, some of the features of manorialism, and how Manorialism affected our Economic Systems.
