We are delighted that Peppa has been selected to join the West Midlands Fire Service
to be trained as a Fire Investigation Sniffer Dog -- the first GSP to be trained for this type of work.
Peppa is a bold, confident puppy with high play drive. A busy character who once awake needed something to do,
she seemed to have all the characteristics required for a potential sniffer dog !! Peppa lives with her handler Matt Dixon, and
his family, where she has the dual role of family pet and sofa hound alongside Matts current fully trained FI dog Ellie . She is particularly
fond of joining in "play-time" with Matts young son and his friends. Her specialities are joining in the cue for the slide .. yes she
really does slide down the slide ... and hide and seek games !!
She is already something of a hit at the various fire stations and offices around the West Midlands, it would seem that she is getting
plenty of cuddles at work in addition to those she receives at home !!! Her training is going well and she has
proved to be a model student, confident in her search and very keen to work for her tennis ball reward.
She is finding a number of common fire accelerant substances and is starting to show a possitive , clear indication of a find to her
handler. To say we are very pround of her is an understatement
