totally Transport 2008
Sunday 22nd June
The Lancastrian Transport Trust (L.T.T.) will once again host its fabulous annual transport extravaganza, 'totally Transport', on Sunday 22nd June 2008, along Blackpool's New South Promenade.
If you haven't yet managed to attend totally Transport, which started back in 2005, then you really are missing something special. The whole of New South Promenade from Starr Gate to the Pleasure Beach is closed to traffic, presenting a safe environment to view the many different forms of transport on display. With the segregated tramway still in full operation, Blackpool Transport provides a full service through the heart of the event, and supplements this with a vintage service between Starr Gate and North Pier using its fine collection of restored vehicles. The Lancastrian Transport Trust (L.T.T.) also extends its Service 12 from St. Annes Square to the Solaris Centre at Harrowside, providing a vintage bus service to Lytham Square.
On the lawns at the rear of the Solaris Centre, which is the focal point of the event, are many trade stalls, offering an exciting experience of 'transport retail therapy', while inside the centre, numerous fabulous operating model tramway systems can be enjoyed.
The publicity stall for the Fylde Tramway Society will also be in attendance, where you can purchase official FTS items such as Mugs, Ties and Badges, and a good selection of Books. It also gives the opportunity to become a member of the FTS, and chat to Publicity Officer, Steven Parry.
