Christmas Tour 2008

Restored Balloon Car 717

The Fylde Tramway Society once again toured the tramway during December, on the occasion of its Christmas Tour.   The chosen tram this year was Balloon 717, still in immaculate condition following its restoration back to 1935 condition.

In glorious December sunshine, the stately tram left depot for Talbot Square, where she reversed for Starr Gate.  After rounding the loop, the tour party headed for Fleetwood where most of group enjoyed some hearty fayre at the North Euston Hotel.  All the usual festivities were enjoyed along the way.

Numerous photo stops were taken en-route, including locations such as Talbot Square, Starr Gate, Cabin, Little Bispham, Fleetwood Ferry and Rossall Beach.  The brilliant weather surely helped produce many a good quality snap!
