Fuzzy Loving Ferrets

Rescue and Ferretry

All About Us

My name is Debra Sadowski and I have operated a rescue since July 1998 and have been breeding ferrets since December 1998.  I handle and care for all my ferrets as if they are my own.  I raise my ferret babies with love and care in a home atmosphere.  I breed for health, longevity, personality and temperment first and foremost. Then for confirmation and color & pattern.  My breeding stock is of foreign lineage including Australian, Finni, Swedish, New Zealand, Canadian, English, German, Russian, Welsh,  Norweign, Canadian, Scottish and I also have an Angora bloodline.  In the future I hope to expand to also Danish and French.  I specialize in Siamese and Fine Points (cinnamon, chocolate & sable).  Other colors available as well.  My ferrets have consistency taken 1-10th place at several shows since 1998 and reciently on March 15th (2008) took "Best In Show".  I am licensed by the State of New Jersey Wildlife, Fish and Game and we are an ADV negative rescue & ferretry.  All ferrets are tested periodically to ensure our ADV negative status.  I am extremely selective with my breeding stock and only work with breeders who uphold ethical breeding standards and I do not inbreed or line breed.  All lineages are verified prior to breeding to make sure that no inbreeding or line breeding occurs.

Rescue adoption fees are based according to age starting at $100 for a 1year old and younger.  Privately breed kits and adults vary in price based on their blood lines and color. Privately bred ferret kits going as pets start at $200 with a $25 return after proof of altering, and breeder kits start at $250. "WE DO NOT SHIP!"  Ferrets can be picked up at a show that we are attending or at my home or even sent via vehicle transport in the Midwest (Iowa, Nebraska, etc).  All ferrets are vaccinated against Canine Distemper with "Galaxy D" and it is the new owner's responsibility to vaccinate for Rabies (Imrab III is the only Rabies vaccine aproved for ferrets).  All ferrets will be accompanied by ADV test results (parents test results will accompany the kit are under 6 months of age).  All privately breed kits going as pets will have a pedigree sent after proof of altering from the new owners vet is provided to me by mail or by fax, unless arrangements for altering are made prior to the adoption, in that case the pedigree would be provided at time of pickup. I give  Health Warrenty (for my privetly bred kits only.) up to the age of 3 years old against genetic defects or genetic illnesses depending on the type of Adoption. I need proof of this in writing from your vet for the Heath Warrenty to stay in effect.

I DO NOT ADOPT OR PLACE MY FERRET KITS OR ADULTS FOR WHOLE SALE PURPOSES. MY PRIVATELY BRED KITS GO TO APPROVED PRIVATE HOMES ONLY. IF YOU ARE A PET SHOP LOOKING FOR FERRET KITS, KINDLY LOOK ELSEWERE, YOU WILL NOT GET THEM FROM ME SO PLEASE "DO NOT" ASK. I ALSO DO NOT ADOPT MY FERRETS FOR REASURCH, FUR OR FOOD, SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK.

Thank you for visiting my site and please remember to sign my "Guest Book"

At this time, I am unable to take in any more surrenders with exception of extream emergancies (such as foundlings, evicticted owners, due to fire, owners death, etc) from animal control, our vet, or NJF&W. I'm trying to "temporarily" cut down on the number of ferrets at this time because of personal reasons and because of our legal battle with my town which may have an impact on other rescues in NJ. I have 2 adoptable rescue pairs, both boys up for adoption, the oer rescues are NON Adoptable due to age and/or illnesses. I am "NOT" closing my rescue, just temperarily not taking in regular surrenders. I will also not have any more litters due this year and we will see what next year brings. Please remember that I am a rescue first, then a small scale breeder.
