Computers as I've mentioned in the Smart Houses section has a blurry but generally bright future as that type of application is going to be continued on for generation, but some people have questioned whether we'll be still using the internet as we do today in say 25 years. One speculation is that there will be no browsers, urls and computers. Every single thing that you can possibly think of will be wirelessly connected for example the parking meter. There is already a working prototype of this in a small town in California where when you put the money in, the left is also tracked by the police department or parking and when it runs out, the police/parking department is alerted. Now a big improvement that can be made on this, is when you put the money in, you have to either enter your license plate manually or it is photographed so the ticket can be paid automatically instead of wasting gas and manpower to drive to the spot. Even better would be a global or worldwide system where when you purchase a car, you get a chip which you swipe right across a recognizer, fully automating the system.
For the TV, the future is scary in terms of media and their effect on our buying habits. Already they have a firm grasp on our buying habits with commercials controlling the shows we watch. Now with JC Penny working with an unknown TV maker it gets even scarier.
