As we both said on the day, it was a fantastic experience and one that we would definitely like to repeat on returning to the island.
Stopping off at Ajuy was well worth while and the scenery along the whole trip was absolutely brilliant. If we were recommending any trip to anyone else it would be the four hour trip because it allows you to take in a lot more of the island in and appreciate the culture from the villages we passed through. We look forward to another trip when we visit again at some point in the future.

Just wanted to thank you both so much for an unforgettable experience. We must confess, we felt pretty nervous before the tour, as we were unsure if our boys ( aged 3 and 5 years) were just too young. Our minds were soon put at rest when John ,(who has the patience of a saint), gave us the expert tuition in the car park prior to our trip. We all loved it, and the views from the mountains were spectacular. John was informative and fun, and went at the pace we wanted. Next time we are on the 'windy island' we will certainly book again. I booked this months before I went on holiday as my friend had hired a trike whilst he was in Caleta and raved about it for weeks.
Service from then on was fabulous, with Lyn and John emailing regularly to update me on how the weather was doing and any information I asked for regarding the tour and the resort in general, which was great.
On the day, my boyfriend and I had a fab time. We went on the four hour Ajuy tour, which took us to some amazing remote spots on the island. Our guide, Mark was fabulous and had loads of local knowledge, providing a great insight into the local people and their unique culture.
I would highly recommend "Cool Runnings" to anyone visiting Fuerteventura as it was the highlight of our brilliant holiday.

Hearing a lot about the trikes in Fuerteventura we could'nt wait to try them! So we waited until the 2nd day when it was Jans birthday, and what a brilliant day it was.
The four hour tour took us to Ajuy on the west side of the island. Mark, who was our guide was very informative. The scenery was fantastic and the roads are first class. Needless to say after we got back, it did'nt take us long to decide that we wanted to do it again! So on our last day we toured the north to Corralejo,when we did get a bit wet but it was still fun. These 2 four hour tours were the highlight of the holiday.
We would like to give many thanks to John, Lyn and Mark for making our holiday so very enjoyable and for their friendliness.

How lucky am I? Hot FM recently ran a competition the prize for which was a trike tour with Cool Runnings. No, I didn’t win but I know Bob and Ruth who did and, lovely couple that they are, they let me come along as their driver.
Fortunately they are here long term so were able to wait out the atrocious weather we´ve been having recently and off we set on Saturday 7th February all giddy and excited. It was a dry and sunny day but a little bit windy.
Safety first is the name of the game so we met up at the Bahia Real Hotel here in Corralejo for familiarization with the controls of the trikes which are based on a Volkswagen and have features of both car and motor bike. Each driver then had a “test drive” around the block with Mark, our tour guide, as a passenger to make sure we were comfortable driving and then it was helmets on and off we set!
Bob Ruth and I were on the “Americana” trike - all stars and stripes and admiring looks as we tootled up and down the strip in a three trike convoy before hitting the open road. I was a little nervous as you are driving any unfamiliar vehicle, but soon got the feel of it.
Our tour took us through Villaverde and La Oliva both of which were positively lush with greenery – some consolation for the rainfall - it was quite springlike. A quick stop to admire the unusually verdant mountains and a bit of local knowledge from Mark then off to El Cotillo.
I had checked with my passengers that they were happy to let me open up the throttle (YES!!) and did just that on a couple of the longer straight runs – exhilarating to say the least. Loved it – what a buzz!!
Being on a trike gives a very different perspective of the drive – quite apart from the fact that everyone you pass smiles and waves at you - not only does it feel that you are going much faster (what with the wind in your hair and all that) but also you pick up smells as you travel. Mark insists that he can tell what type of animal it is if he passes roadkill - too much information thank you Mark!..Fortunately for us it was the scent of spring flowers we were picking up – more consolation for our wet winter.
A stop off at the lighthouse out by the lagoons then into El Cottillo itself for a welcome cup of coffee not to mention another opportunity to pose with our beautiful machines. We came back through Lajares and after a final strut up the strip reluctantly handed back the keys.
I can´t thank Ruth and Bob enough for letting me share their wonderful prize and be their driver for the tour. I want to do it again soon and for longer!

Cool Runnings was one of the (and definitely my) highlights of our two weeks in Fuerteventura. We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids - 7 and 10 years) and, having read some of the other testimonials and spoken to a friend, decided to take the 8 hour tour. Billy (my husband) has mobility problems and had a seat on the back of the guide trike. I drove a trike with the two kids as passengers on the back. Having only ever driven a car previously (and never driven abroad at all) I was a bit nervous. However, after a few minutes around the car park, we set off and it was exhilarating! I was completely hooked! The trip is well done with regular stops to have a coffee/see the sights. You definately have a much better experience than sitting in a coach or in a car. Some of the best bits (for us) were seeing John call the ravens and having them eat our of our hands, the giants (!), caves at Ajuy, just being on the open road and seeing the scenery and or course the chipmunks.
John, Lyn and the team are terrific, very professional. We would recommend the 8 hour trip wholeheartedly, it gives you a chance to see a few different areas. Our kids coped well with this and asked for more at the end of the day!
We will definately take another trip when we return to Fuerteventura. The Step-Inn does a good beer afterwards too!!

Wow - how fantastic was that!!! We took the full day tour and saw EVERYTHING!!! Feeding the ravens and chipmunks in the mountains had to be the highlight of the tour - John just whistled and they swooped in to his call - and they have babies, what a bonus, they arent cheeky enough yet to take the nuts from Johns hands but Im sure he will get them to eventually! The views were spectacular and John was a brilliant chauffeur, pointing out all the interesting sights on the island and it was great, all we had to do was sit back and enjoy! I work for a excursion booking office here in Fuerteventura and had the absolute pleasure of going on a 2hour tour with my visiting sister and her children. John gave simple instructions which my sister (the brave driver of the girlie pink panther) found easy to follow and with a little trepidation, off we went!
WOW!! The tour was amazing! It even left me speechless, which is amazing in itself!!! There was lots to see and it was wonderful to get away from the town and see the spectacular views, and the feeling from being on the trike is undescribable! It left me on an adrenaline 'high' and the 2hour tour really was not long enough! We asked the kids at the end of their holiday which was their favourite part out of all
the activities they had done and they all shouted out 'THE TRIKES' !!!

We had to take three tours, one simply wasn't enough!!
The first two tours were a special birthday present for my partner Steve, who knew nothing about the trikes until John turned up at our hotel - from then on it was pure magic. After being driven by Steve on the first two tours I decided I had to drive and so we booked our third tour!
Anyone who misses the chance to tour on one of these trikes is missing the thrill of a lifetime, you go as fast or slow as you want and really see the people and the country when you drive across the island through the tiny, traditional spanish villages.
If you love animals, the pitstop to feed the chipmonks with Johns never ending supply of peanuts is an absolute must. What a holiday, what memories! Just trying to organise our next one now to return and visit our new found friends John and Lyn.

I know it has taken a bit of time to send this feedback, but all I am going to say is if you get the chance grab it with both hands! The tour itself is not far short of amazing and I havent experienced anything like it before. John and the other tourguides know their stuff and I don't even think anything is as good as travelling along them freeways, and to get to the top of the mountain to see them breathtaking views is top of the pops. Absolutely BRILL, went on a 4 hour tour I drove and had daughter and wife on back, we all absolutely loved it. What a great way to see the Island. What fabulous roads to ride on, they are a dream. Just one tip, wear something warm. It was a hot day when we went, however as you ride along it can get quite chilly, so wear warm clothing. The view from the view tower at top of mountain is breathtaking, and feeding the chipmonks was wonderfull.
Definitely well worth the money it was excellent!!!

WOW,WOW,WOW! If you are looking for inspiration, a sensation of 'stepping outside the box' and a huge amount of fun then this is THE trip to do whilst staying on Fuerteventura. Everything about this experience was positive right from the word go when we popped into the office to see Lynne and talk about the Trikes and the various tours through to meeting John at the appointed hour for our tour. It was AMAZING! John was our chauffeur for the 4 hour Ajuy trip and he has a wealth of knowledge about the island and it's people. To have your own guide and e out on a beautiful day with all the sights and sounds along the way was just magical. The Tikes were something we'd never done before but once we had, we wished there had been more time to take another trip. Put very simply....it was truly unique - we are still smiling!

A fantastic day out with spectacular views and exhilarating driving. The feel of speed you get riding one of these trikes is something else. The black sand at Ajuy is bizarre set against the backdrop of the atlantic breakers rolling in. The climb through the hills leads you to magnificent views and the fun of feeding the chipmunks at one of the stops. The icing on the cake is the visit to the observatory with 360 degree views of the island. As one who had never ridden a motorbike before I was a little uncertain about whether I could control one of these. However being a car driver was more of a benefit than I thought. John´s pre-tour tuition was excellent and within 10 minutes on the road I was comfortable with the trike and relaxed. Thanks John for a great time and the next time we are in Fuerteventura we will be back. We would recommend this tour to anyone. It is an excellent way to explore some of the island and great value for money. I am still buzzing about the day out.

Although John tried his best to stay dry that day we insisted that we did not mind going on the Ajuy tour with the prospect of rain being 100% (and it did rain!). As it happened it could have snowed that day and it would not have taken away the thrill and enjoyment of the day. If you get the chance and do nothing else on your trip to Fuerterventura do this! It was a day we will truely remember for the rest of our lives, the scenery (the angry rain clouds were stunning from the Mirador Observation point) , the trikes and the staff at fuerturetrikes were all first class! There is no hard sell here and the usual tat we have experienced on holidays in the past. Thanks John and Lyn for a fantastic day.

We had a great time on the 2 hour tour. If we hadn't forgotten our driving licences I would have driven but it was well worth being chauffered by John as he made it really interesting. What a cool way to cruise up the mountains and breeze back down. John and the office staff were so efficient and we can't wait to come back next year to drive one ourselves. If ever you visit the island of Fuerteventura, this is the best trip you will ever encounter. Trikes sound like something a kid would ride but WOW these are the real business, the roar of the 1600cc engine under your butt and of course the views as well are exceptional. We enjoyed our first trip so much we went back for another. We went on the Ajuy tour and later the 69 tour both were the highlights of our holiday as we saw a good part of the volcanic island with it's natural beauty and wildlife. Book this trip early in your holiday as we are sure you will want another without doubt. John, the guide, was a real diamond of a bloke and with his instruction I felt at ease driving this wonderful machine. You feel like a celebrity as all the passers by look and wave at you, a real head turner. We will be back next year to the Island and will definately go back for more.

Great tour, best I've been on. My wife and sister in law (Lynn and Marie) rode pillion with your son in control (I felt sorry for him), and they loved it. Me like a p*** forgot my driving licence so had to ride pillion with the boss, but this did not spoil things in any way. What an experience!!!!! We saw the trikes on the market and spoke to both John and Lyn, as I (Linda) am very, very nervous of heights and had never been on a bike before. They said that they would probably only recommend the 69 tour for us so we went into the office the next day and booked. WELL what a brilliant time we had! John had said that he would go at my speed and told us to tap his shoulder once if we wanted to go faster, so on the way back Peter leant over and tapped Johns shoulder on my side (I think John was really shocked). The trike took off and it was fantastic. We enjoyed this two hour tour so much we went back and booked a four hour tour for another day, again I do not have the superlatives to describe our day. Many, many thanks John and Lyn for a wonderful experience, the scenery was beautiful, Johns knowledge and driving was excellent and we will definately be taking the whole island tour when we next visit Fuerteventura.

I would like to thank Victor for a fantastic 4 hour trip around the mountains and coast (north). We had a great time and Victor was very good with his "tour talk" and we found the views fantastic. Well, what can I say ..... I cannot thank you enough for what was undoubtably the most fun, and most exciting holiday tour I have ever experienced, nothing beats the trikes for making a tour so much fun. The views of the mountains were spectacular as were making friends with the chipmonks. Such a lovely island would not of been so enjoyable to view without the trikes and the tour guides, John and James, who made it so much fun. I would recommend this to everyone of any age. My 6 year old son enjoyed it every bit as much as me and had not stopped nagging me to book for next year, so to avoid disappointment I have now rebooked for next July. Hope to see you there .....

Without a doubt we definitely left the best till last (took tour on last day of our hols). We took the 6 hour tour and had so much fun the time just flew by. We found the trike extremely comfortable, it handled very well. John put us at ease right away with his friendly manner and professionalism. The day was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. It must have been 30 degrees. Great feeling the warm air in our faces, the freedom of the open road, the roar of the twin exhausts, the chrome glistening in the sunshine, turning heads as we entered the various locals villages. The scenery was breath taking. Had fun feeding nuts, kindly provided by John, to the grey squirrels and the wild rook which ate from our hands (that even surprised John! lol). The trip up to the lighthouse was exhilerating WOW. The visit to Ajuy and the caves - such rugged natural beauty - (look out John he's behind you!!!!! lol). The view from the observatory in Betencuria was stunning. Could go on and on but you just gotta try it 4 ur self. An unforgetable and unique experience. If we return to Fuerteventura we'll definitely be booking the Easy Rider Tour. Thanks John for a magical day and it was really lovely to meet you.

Wow!! What a fantastic day. The day was perfect from start to finish, we had the pink panther trike with my husband driving and me and my 7 year old daughter Emily on the back. My five year old son Matthew went on the back of the Big Boss
on his own with James driving (Matthew did not shut up all day, chat chat to James like he had known him forever), he thought it was the coolest thing ever and couldn't wait to tell all his school friends what he had done on holiday. The views of the island are to say the least spectacular!! We did the 4 hour tour and my kids and us enjoyed every minute of it. Feeding the chipmonks was incredible. The observatory should not be missed by anybody visiting the island, 360* panoramic view from the highest point. Superb! This tour is a must for anyone young or old an experience of a lifetime. John and all the gang, you are Stars ******

Absolutely brilliant! Can't convey enough how much we enjoyed ourselves. I was meant to drive the trike but after test driving it I wasn't at all confident in taking it out onto the roads (I'd never driven a bike!). John and the other people we were with were brilliant & made me feel at ease that I'd made the right decision not to drive if I wasn't comfortable. John kindly said my partner, Justin, could drive instead and we had a fabulous time. We did the 69k Tour (for 69 euros, which is outstanding value for the experience that you have) and went up into the mountains in Betancuria. When we got to the top you could see down into Betancuria on one side and then all the way across to the other side of the island and the sea ..... stunning! John was a fantastic guide ..... he was relaxed, had good island knowledge and had a good sense of humour ..... thanks to him for an unforgettable experience. It was the highlight of our holiday!

We decided to take the trike tour as this was something completely different we had never experienced. We saw this advertised on Sky Travel before departing and really wanted to do this. We booked the trike tour as soon as we could and have never experienced a trip like this. If we could sum this up in two words ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! Thanks to John, Lyn and James who made the tour a pleasure, ensuring all went smoothly. This is a must for anyone to do whilst visiting the island and will not be disappointed at all. Well what can we say?! Not many people can say that they spent their Silver Wedding Anniversary the way we did ..... on the back of a Fuertetrike!!! What an
absolutely fantastic day we had too. Our driver Victor was fantastic and John (what a lovely man!) came along too to make sure our day was special and it deffinately was. The views were breathtaking, and the open roads! It was the first time for both of us on a motorbike of any kind and I (Dot) was a bit worried about going but there was no need, I felt completely safe from start to finish. If anyone is unsure whether to give it a try just go for it you will have an experience that you will get nowhere else. The champagne was a lovely surprise, thank you so much for that. And Lyn you have been fantastic on the e-mail sorting everything out for us, thank you to all of you, you made our special day extra special, a day we will remember forever. P.S. What a great tour! John you are very professional, you run your tours from start to finish in a professional manner, making sure that all of us were safe and comfortable with the bikes before the start. If you have not done this before, then you don't know what you are missing, the scenery is awesome and riding these trikes will have you singing like Billy Connolly or Meat Loaf. We will do this again on our next visit to the island.

Superb! I went on the tour with my two sons James and Ryan. James was a bit unsure about going at first (James is autistic) but once we got on the
open road he started to change his view and started to enjoy himself. When we stopped to feed the chipmunks James was in his element and was feeding them with the monkeynuts that John had with him. John had sensed that James had some problems and was very understanding with him and took the time to make sure that he had a constant supply of food for the chipmunks. Ryan also had a great time and if given the chance he would of rode the trike with every opportunity he was sitting on the drivers seat. John, I can only say thank you
for being so understanding with both the boys. CHEERS and will see you again.

This trike tour has cost us a fortune! Not because it was expensive, but cos it was so good we went straight down to the travel agents the day after we got back to book again for next year, to do it all over again! If you do nothing else on
your holiday but lie on the beach, this is a must. A fantastic day out for the whole family. Lots of thanks from Roger for booking us in at really short notice on our only remaining free day and from Claire cos that trike ride did wonders for her tan. See you again next year!

We found the tour on the internet before our holiday and booked on
arrival. We holidayed in the south of the island and had to get a bus to the trikes. This took an hour (after one eventually arrived), so when we got to the trikes we were tired. Once we started driving, all the time we took to arrive was forgotten and we all agreed that the WOW factor of driving these fantastic machines was amazing. John led us up to the view point and we stopped and took in the incredible sights. Thanks. Any one that visits the island THIS IS A MUST DO TRIP.

I would just like to say to anyone thinking about whether to do this tour or not , go for it! John explains everything really well and I met a man coming back from a tour who had never driven a bike and he got on fine as it is more like a cross between a car and a bike to drive. Take your camera with you as the scenery on the route is spectacular. I can honestly say it was the highlight of our Fuerteventura holiday and we did quite a few excursions, but none got the adrenaline going like the trikes, so it just left to say well done to COOL RUNNINGS and keep up the good work

Thank you for the best 4 hours of our holiday in Fuerteventura. The 1st half an hour gave plenty of time to get used to the trike and myself and my wife and son very soon became relaxed and really enjoyed the experience. Jamie's highlight was feeding the chipmunks (or ground squirrels). I think that the 4 hour tour (which seemed to fly past) was definitely the best option for us. Once again, thank you, and we hope to see you again next year.

Hi John. Just wanted to drop you a line re feedback about our 4 hour tour. Firstly - what a great day we all had out with you last Monday. It was certainly the highlight of our week's holiday ..... absolutely great. We got to see parts of the island we would never have got to....and in style !! The only 'negative' part we thought was the restaurant we stopped for lunch at in Ajuy. I know you didn't like the place either but perhaps with that in mind we could have driven off to another place to have lunch. Before we took the tour I was a bit apprehensive, but believe me it was fantastic!!! It was all very professional and completely safe. We got to the top of the mountains and the view was stunning, John was a great guide and it was interesting to hear his story. EXCELLENT - by far the best thing we did in Fuerteventura! Although we only did the two hour tour our boys who were 5 and 3 absolutely loved it and still get excited talking about it. Totally recommend this excursion and if we ever return to Fuerteventura we will definitely book the day trip - can't wait til the kids are grown up now so we can hire trikes for the Route 66!! We've definitely got the bug now!

What a great time we had, I still haven't stopped smiling about it (Don). It was a great way to see some of the island and Mike was a great bloke that made you feel totally relaxed. We went on the Route 69 tour which is a great starter tour but we will definitely be doing the whole island tour next time. We would recommend any of the tours to anybody.

Thank you for a lovely tour. The views from the mountain were lst class. Its been many years since I had the wind blowing in face, it brought back very many happy memories. This was a first class two trike tour with drivers John and Steve offering a sound knowledge of the island, going at the pace you want and places off the normal tourist traps. Both are very personable and a laugh to spend the day with. It's suitable for all age groups. Nothing was too much trouble and would strongly recommend a tour. Thanks for a great day out.
