FCKN BSTRDS - NOISE TRASH (DVD) 2005
This is a DVD for the band FCKN BSTRDS. These guys are totally insane. They play some very chaotic & crazy Noise Experimental music. There is a lot of feedback & static in their sound. The DVD contains lots of live footage of the band. Their shows seem very bizarre as well. There is lots of S&M, torture, costumes, violence, sex & much more at their shows. I liked a lot of the weird animation & stuff between the live footage. They were like a noisy version of GWAR, THE GENITORTURERS & BAD LUCK 13 all rolled into one!!! This was some really crazy ass shit!!!

Fckn Bstrds -- NOISE TRASH (dvd) [Hondenkoekjesfabriek] Having previously listened to only a tiny bit of their recorded output, and never seeing their live show or pictures of them or anything... I honestly can say I didn't know what to expect when I put this in. I was pleasantly surprised. Quite honestly, this rules and is a DVD that you should seek out RIGHT NOW if you haven't already. A variety of scenes and sounds... from awesome public noise-annoyance (the little kid poking one of them then running away was great), to funny-as-hell sexual animation that made me laugh and spit booze everywhere and made some feminist sourpuss at a party get all pissed. How can you not laugh at a vagina blowing smoke and coughing, or a whistling snake crawling out a girl's butthole when she has teeth where her snatch should be? What the fuck. Anyway, there's some killer live sickness on here, ranging from a radio-station performance circus, to a really trippy-looking performance where they colored all over the film in post-production... really disorienting and perfect for baked brains to get squishy over. As usual, the Bstrds are all decked out in random pieces of trash, colorful and confusing masks and costumes made of assorted junk, all while howling and rolling around on the floor and throwing things and touching their asses and all sorts of chaos... processed via effects into a feedback drenched sea of hiss and crunch. Sounds at points reminded me of Cock ESP live stuff, but only slightly... and only because I was drunk and watching a DVD of people rolling around on the ground over a bunch of noise. A solid release from these crazy Dutch fucks. The intro includes footage of a guy lifting some heavy shit with his dick and balls and also made some bitches at that party get all upset. Excellent! FCKN?BSTRDS ?Zwaar Verteerbare Baggernoise Voor Borderliners?
Somebody must have let their recording equipment unguarded, and FCKN?BSTRDS got a hold of it and decided that they were a band that day. Your going to have to be a noise freak with an incredible threshold for pain to enjoy this slopped together piece of improvisation. It?s either genius or incredibly retarded. I?m not sure. There is a lot of screaming and blathering around howling feedback and warped noises. It sounds like they had a lot of fun while recording the CD. It might have even been at a party. I kind of get that vibe (fucked up, that is.) Very juvenile, but in the same respect it is unrestrained and wonderfully chaotic. (neo-zine)
From the Netherlands come the Fckn' Bstrds, a group I had never heard of, but who have actually released close to twenty items, from tapes to vinyl, from CDs to CDXtra like in this case... "Kutlul" is their sixteenth release and, you can say it loud, brings the noise! If you are into KK Null, Merzbow, Masonna and all that type of anti-musical crap this one is for you. And if you can't take a whole CD of it, you're in luck because this one only has got two tracks (totaling close to eighteen minutes of music... did I say music? scrap that... I meant: noise!). What is probably more my cup of tea is the extra multimedia content of the CD: 34 pictures where you can see why this stuff is more interesting when it's a live performance rather than a record. These guys come out with decorated cardboard boxes covering their heads and brightly coloured costumes that are a mixture of more industrial/more raw Mummenschanz visuals and performancesby the like of Monte Cazazza, Genesis P. Orridge, Musicus Phÿcus, the Hearts of Darknesses or Johnny Knoxville for that matter. You'll get over twenty minutes of this performance art on video (live at some Dutch squatt called Dans Havo). The art work comes in a black/whitedigipack with phallic design (they seem to love that) and hand-written notes, addresses etc. Check out their site or WoT4's website for more info (even though it hasn't been updated in a while) about this release and about the new 'very special' release (announced today) of a brand new CD by Polpetta e i Cani Avvelenati (with tracks from their performance at the Reading Festival in the UK and the Melkweg in Amsterdam, Holland and a song performed live with Lee Scratch Perry. Stay on the lookout! This one is a MUST HAVE!
7 MAY 2004 FCKN BSTRDS MK9 BONGOLEEROS ROMANCE LUCAS ABELA The Packhorse, Leeds
Lucas Abela is a sound-artist from Australia. His very brief set was facinating to watch. Barefoot, he picked up his instrument...a sheet of glass, contact-mic'ed up to his belt of FX pedals.; He proceeded to blow, gurn and scream into the glass, manipulating the resulting amplified vibrations into swirling shards of corruscating noise. After five minutes he promptly stopped and smashed the glass over his head. An absolute star! The already cramped Packhorse was further compromised by Romance's table full of FX pedals and processors. This one-man noise act from Newcastle scoured our ear-drums with 15-or-so minutes of old-school power electronics. Quite dull and one-dimensional with little progression or movement. Nice and noisy, mind! Our very own Bongoleros didn't disappoint. As this was my first time with the masked men, they treated me very gently, only breaking the one lightbulb over our heads! Give a group of sex-obsessed 12 years old instuments, stockings and the Captain Beefheart back-catalogue and they would make music like this! Michael Nine's multi media performance as MK9 suffered due to the inappropriate venue. His powerful set was ruined by drunken punters chatting and walking in front of his projections of war victims and rioting. One particular individual suffered his wrath has he screamed into
their face, hardly surprising given his past in confrontational power electronics outfit Death Squad. Music of such force, with a genuine passion and message to it deserved better than this. Pearls before swine. To lighten the mood came headliners Fckn Bstrds. Yes it's the Dutch Gwar, all paper-mache stage outfits and lo-fi screaming electronics from the mind of cartoonist Marc van Elburg. Cross ealy 90s absurdist rock gumbies Green Jelly with US noise unit Forcefield and you may have some idea what just happened. A night to remember.

THE EARWIGS/FCKN'BSTRDS - ZWAKZINNIGE INTEELTNOISE VOOR IN DE PRULLENBAK
(CDR by De Hondenkoekjesfabriek)
More incestnoise for the trashcan, as this roughly translates.
I never heard of the Earwigs and apperentely their material was recorded in 1997, but that doesn't make any difference in sound from the good ol' Fckn Bstrds. Eleven tracks in total of some very distorted noise jams, feedback waves and screaming vocals of agony (or pleasure, more likely). Maybe the whole thing is a bit too rough edged for my taste, but at least the Fckn Bstrds have some nice lyrics, but some understanding of the Dutch language is required.

Noise Trash

FCKNBSTRDS - SYLVESTER IM KNIESCHUSSCLUB (CDR by de Hondenkoekjesfabriek)
The whole evening of sylvester is for me never much of a celebration, just waiting and waiting for fireworks to disturb the movie I'm watching and an unpleasant interruption of drinking a glass of red wine. Of course I could go out and see say the Fcknbstrds live at Knieschussclub in Bremen, Germany. They started at 23:45 and played for forty-five minutes, into the new year. I'm sure if I really want to do that, since the concert is now available as a CDR and home is where the hurt is. Fcknbstrds are a bunch of unrelentness noise makers from The Netherlands, playing a rather lo-fi version of noise on a bunch of cheap electronics, some distortion pedals and an endless stream of screams. Whatever the lyrics may mean, it's of course of no real importance. Their sound is not so much a consistent stream of noise, but more chaotic, bouncing back and forth, humming small melodies on cheap keyboards and feedback going berserk. The Fcknbstrds are never about doing something different in what they do, but as always they do what they do best: get drunk, play noise, have fun. It's a party and if you like it, join in on whatever level. (FdW)vital weekly

The FcknBstrds show was pretty cool, baggernoise for marginals, though for some people attending the show a bit (if not way) too long. True, the FcknBstrds aren’t into subtly building up a set, they rather dive into the crescendo right away, but they do manage to keep the party going at that level for at least 30 minutes.
