Band Profile
Frome Town Youth Band was formed in 1997 to provide a
facility for young people to learn & perform music in &
around the local community.
From the first intake of beginners with just a
handful of youngsters the band has grown to it's present
level of having in excess of 60 members, most of which
are under the age of 16. Some as young as 8. There will
always be an element of senior players as a foundation
stone though.
A typical year will see us performing at a variety of functions from
St. Georges Day & Whit Sunday marches to Local fetes &
Carnival Marches to an Agricultural show & Park
Concerts, traveling as far as Blenheim Gardens in
Minehead.
The highlight of our year is our Showpiece
Christmas Concert performed at Frome Memorial Theatre,
which always brings new talent to the stage. |
