MY ALLOTMENT DIARY

YEAR ONE 2004

August 7th 2004

Well everything in the garden is growing well..........and at long last we have the slabs laid for the shed.  I ordered a 7' x 5' size, and I can't wait for it to arrive!!       and here it is

My father  seems to like it, anyway.  Originally we planned to have it at the other end of the site, where I had placed my flower garden, but the delivery firm wouldn't carry it that far to erect it.........at the last moment we had to move the base to the top end of the site.  It was a shame because it would have been far more secluded off the main walkway.  still, at least I now had one!!!

Because of the last minute site change, there was barely enough room for the shed, and I had to cut a gap in my Runner Beans to allow access to the shed.

As you can see from the last picture the lottie next to ours is in a similar condition as ours was when we took it over..........there are several untended sites I'm afraid, although this year I've noticed that 4 or 5 more are being worked.

Inside view (although this will change)

Having finally got the shed onto site, I go out to get a few flowers to go round it and also start planning to move the flowers to this end of the lottie to make my garden

Also decide to purchase a few more slabs to make my seating area, and some old timbers I've been given will make a couple of walkways.

In between all this hard landscaping the veggies are continuing to grow.................

Sweetcorn

Tomatoes........and......

Carrots......also showing are the Chard and Witlof.
