Welcome to the Friendship Union

SAVE THE DATE: The 2nd Annual Friendship Union Walk-a-thon will be held October 6th at the Lake County Fairrounds.
The Friendship Union was started in 2001 as a way for people with disabilities to come together to express themselves; meet other people; learn about and advocate for their rights; and gain access to any information they may want.

The group meets one  night a month at 12300 Marshall Street; Crown Point, IN. Each month a different topic is discussed. Past topics have included legal rights, registering to vote and the voting process, responsibilites.. Also, the group plans some activities throughout the year such as the annual picnic, dances and game night.

The Friendship Union is open to all individuals with a disability. Due to some of the sensitive issues discussed, parents, guardians, advocates or paid professionals may only attend the first 15 minutes, unless physical assistance is needed. There is space available for people if they wish to wait in the building.

Please check "Meetings and Events" for upcoming activities often! Also, go visit our new section on Past Events and Accomplishments to see all of the things we've done.  We also have a Chatroom and Guestbook!!
