I am excited to share with you a most winsome wee faerie teddy today---Iridessa, the Butterfly Whisperer!
Iri is an original one of a kind artist bear, imagined and then handmade by me. =) She's a tiny sweetie who loves to go exploring outside and upon one of her nature walks, she found a bit of springtime magic in the form of gorgeous butterflies! This butterfly caboodle [meaning flock of butterflies] immediately made Iri their new best friend, and now are her constant companions! You can frequently catch a glimpse of Iridessa in the woods, occassionally flying but most of the time trundling along the forest floor, accompanied by the shimmering flutterbys cavorting over her head and riding on her shoulder from time to time.
After a day of exploring, Iri heads for home and lots of snuggles---she loves hugging, giving AND receiving! Be careful of giving her chocolate, as you might find teensy chocolate-y kisses on various favorite items [including people!] after she flies through!
The butterflies you see on Iri are completely removable, repositionable and gently posable! Iridessa can cup a flutterfy in her paws, and you can place them on her head, foot, leg, belly, behind, etc. There are six butterflies in all, in shades of blue, purple, green, pink, magenta, and buttercup yellow---each one sparkles with shimmery transparent iridescence, flashing in sunlight. Iridessa and the butterflies also have a handful of ladybugs and June beetles that are teensy friends---they too perch on Iri's hands.
Iridessa has black glass eyes, a small lavendar soft sculptured nose, vintage long-pile upholstery fabric in a wonderful fushia shade with a beautiful sheen that sparkles in the light. She has upholstery fabric footpads in contrasting lavendar with threaded toes, three on each foot, to emphasize the wee teddy charm. She has two sets of wings, one iridescent purple and then a clay millefori butterfly set which fades from magenta to purple. The iridescent wings are gently posable, and the millefori wings are translucent, glowing vibrantly in the sunshine!
Extensive needle-sculpting has given Iridessa an enchanting expression on her little face. This teddy is 3 inches in height, and a tiny 2 1/2 inches sitting. Iri's head is cotter-pin jointed, rotating from side to side. She has subtly shaded fur highlights for extra character, and limbs are string-jointed. For extra posability, her arms have been wired also.

Iridessa has been happily adopted to a bear home in Nebraska, but other Butterfly Whisperers are available by commission!
All fribbles are completely designed and handmade by myself. Fribbles prefer to go to collectors' homes because, due to small pieces, they are not suitable for small children. All fribbles come from a non-smoking, clean [at times disorganized] house with a dog, two cats, two beta fish, a husband and a baby, not necessarily in that order. =)
