[ A New Breed Of DJ ]

IN THE BEGINNING...........

There was Jeminye & Suarve.......Frequency Cru' was created in the year 2000 by Jeminye & Suarve (Jeminye's younger brother). Before this Jeminye began DJing, well began MCing around 1991 and was in the sound system GUNSHOT INTERNATIONAL who later became BLACK ONYX. After a year Jeminye attempted to have a spin on the decks and he fell in love right there and has not looked back since.

He left BLACK ONYX a couple years later to pursue his dream of playing all over the world and trying new skills as he felt restricted. Joining many sound systems from Bedford, Luton, St. Albans and London along the way Jeminye experienced alot of things especially jealousy so he decided to go solo.

Jeminye started off by supporting acts like GLAMMA KID, HINDA HICKS, QUEEN PEN and more and also playing along DJs like RAMPAGE, CRUCIAL ROBBIE, CHRIS GOLDFINGER plus more.

Jeminye's love for DJing just grew and grew and he would get so much love from the audience for being an entertainer. If you know Jeminye you'd be surprised to know that he loves to talk on the mic!! And it don't matter if there's 10 people or 10,000 people, Jeminye will entertain you and make sure you have a great night!!

As he got older Suarve would come out and support Jeminye and they found they worked great together. They would combine MCing and dancing to entertain the crowd and they found they'd know what each other was going to say or they'd buss the same dance moves without praticing anything so Jeminye suggested the form a sound system of their own....

So then....

Came FREQUENCY CRU'. It was like starting up new for JEMINYE as he had to get people accustomed to the crew rather than a solo DJ. So to start getting people used to the name they joined STREET FM in NW London starting on the graveyard shifts but in no time at all they'd gone up to daytime shows.

Work was coming in fast so they decided to try strengthen the team by looking for some DJs/MCs to join FREQUNCY CRU', which is where DJ DEON SMOOVE came in. JEMINYE auditioned him at WKD and found that they had alot in common with regards to the way he played so he was in straight! Both the same age and with loads of common interests they found they were heading on the same path.

From he joined the crew they went from strength to strength supporting acts like NAS, JAY-Z, DESTINY'S CHILD, KELIS, CAPLETON and many more. They also began touring and playing at festivals in Europe & South Africa. All down to DJ SMOOVE bringing us in. They have been to BELGIUM, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND, AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA and many more with more still to come.

Leaving STREET FM they went on to Y2K FM 90.6 for a while but decided to leave and went to Internet station www.londonliveanddirect.com During this time they found that alot of up & coming artists were sending them material so they decided to bring that in to their sets and whether on radio or out in a club you will find them playing something from a new artist as they believe in supporting new talent.

Again they found the workload getting overloaded as DJ SMOOVE was touring abroad more and more whilst the rest of FREQUENCY CRU' stayed behind to deal with other projects.

Not being happy with the radio they decided to move on and joined www.smokefm.co.uk but they still needed to increase the team.......

Now 2006 is dey bout and Frequency Cru' are making different movements! Look out for the new slots coming real soon but keep your eyes peeled for guest shows!
